The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, module vendors, and ecosystem partners developing products based on Qualcomm V2X solutions.\nOur team is deeply technical and engineering-driven. In addition to customer-facing activities, Customer Engineers actively develop software, tools, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and reference solutions that help customers successfully evaluate, integrate, validate, and deploy V2X technology.\nThe role combines customer interaction, system engineering, software development, troubleshooting, and innovation, allowing engineers to influence both customer success and product evolution.\nKey Responsibilities\nCustomer Technical Leadership\nAct as the primary technical interface between customers and Qualcomm engineering teams.\n\nSupport customers throughout the product lifecycle, from evaluation and design through validation and production.\n\nLead technical discussions, design reviews, architecture assessments, and integration activities.\n\nUnderstand customer applications, requirements, and deployment scenarios, and provide expert technical guidance.\n\nSupport customer field trials, interoperability events, demonstrations, and production programs.\n\nEngineering and Development\nDesign and develop software tools, and applications that enhance customer adoption of Qualcomm V2X technologies.\n\nDevelop and maintain demo applications, proof-of-concepts, and engineering prototypes used for customer engagements, industry events, and internal validation.\n\nImplement customer-specific adaptations, reference implementations, and integration examples that accelerate development and reduce technical risk.\n\nCreate automation solutions for testing, validation, diagnostics, data collection, and performance analysis.\n\nContribute code, bug fixes, and feature enhancements to internal software projects when required.\n\nTechnical Problem Solving\nReproduce, analyze, and resolve complex system-level issues spanning software, hardware, RF, networking, security, and standards compliance.\n\nDrive root-cause investigations in collaboration with engineering teams.\n\nAnalyze logs, traces, packet captures, and field-test results.\n\nDevelop workarounds, reference solutions, and validation methods for customer issues.\n\nProduct and Ecosystem Support\nProvide technical training, workshops, and hands-on enablement activities.\n\nSupport interoperability testing with ecosystem partners.\n\nGather customer feedback and communicate requirements and market insights to Product Management and Engineering.\n\nContribute to technical documentation, application notes, training materials, and best practices.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nB.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\n\nExperience in embedded software development and debugging.\n\nStrong programming skills in C/C++, or similar languages.\n\nExperience working with embedded Linux environments.\n\nStrong hands-on troubleshooting skills across hardware and software domains.\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with C-V2X, NR-V2X, ITS-G5, DSRC, LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, or related wireless technologies.\n\nFamiliarity with automotive systems and development processes.\n\nExperience with RF testing and wireless performance analysis.\n\nKnowledge of cybersecurity, PKI, and secure communications.\n\nExperience as a Customer Engineer, Application Engineer, FAE, System Engineer, or Technical Lead.\n\nWhat Makes This Role Unique\nDirect impact on the deployment of life-saving V2X technologies.\n\nA combination of customer-facing technical leadership and hands-on engineering development.\n\nOpportunity to build real software, tools, demos, and reference solutions.\n\nClose collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and leading automotive customers worldwide.\n\nOwnership of activities ranging from early concept evaluations through production deployments.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.\n1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.\n*References to a particular number of years experience are for indicative purposes only.
