Seacoast Skin Surgery | Wilmington, NC

Seacoast Skin Surgery is seeking an experienced Mohs Histotechnician to join our team in Wilmington, NC. In this essential role, you’ll work closely with our Mohs surgeon to prepare precise, high-quality tissue sections that support timely and accurate patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Map, color-code, cut, stain, and prepare Mohs tissue specimens
• Produce microscopic slides for surgeon evaluation
• Operate and maintain cryostat and laboratory equipment
• Complete quality-control checks and CLIA-required documentation
• Maintain accurate logs, records, slides, and supply inventory
• Coordinate pathology materials for internal and external consultations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education meeting CLIA guidelines for high-complexity testing
• At least three years of Mohs histotechnology experience
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative surgical environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or related discipline preferred.
• Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) by ASCP is highly preferred.
• Previous experience in Mohs histotechnology preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
