This role works closely with field supervisors and crews to coordinate projects, maintain safety standards, resolve operational challenges, and meet customer expectations.\nThe ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience in field operations, and the ability to manage time-sensitive projects in demanding environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport and guide field supervisors in managing multiple projects while meeting DOT/FRA regulations and company safety standards.\n\nAssign work, track progress, and ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to customer requirements.\n\nProvide hands-on field leadership, coach employees, resolve problems, and assist with emergency service calls as needed.\n\nVisit job sites to evaluate safety, work quality, and operational efficiency, address risks, and implement corrective measures.\n\nCoordinate with railroad customers, field partners, and regulatory agencies to maintain effective communication and working relationships.\n\nTrain, mentor, and develop employees; assist with hiring, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching.\n\nSupport workforce planning, budgeting, and forecasting.\n\nEnsure accurate and timely records of payroll, labor hours, equipment usage, and project activities.\n\nMonitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance or replacement to maintain operational readiness.\n\nHelp develop business opportunities through customer relationships, industry networking, and participation in industry events.\n\nRequired and Preferred Qualifications\nExperience in railroad operations, heavy equipment, construction, or a related field preferred.\n\nStrong understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations.\n\nDemonstrated leadership experience supervising teams in field-based operations.\n\nExperience operating heavy equipment, including cranes, trucks, and excavators.\n\nAbility to read and interpret crane load charts and rigging requirements.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn operational software systems.\n\nValid driver's license with a clean driving record.\n\nCDL Class A or B preferred, but not required.\n\nAbility to complete required safety training and certification programs.\n\nWork Environment and Requirements\nFrequent overnight travel.\n\nOn-call availability, with the ability to report to the job site within one hour.\n\nWillingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments.\n\nFlexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational needs
