This role combines team leadership, heavy equipment operations, customer coordination, and emergency response. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment and supporting crews when urgent assignments arise.\nKey Responsibilities\nGuide supervisors and field crews in completing projects safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.\n\nAssign daily work, track progress, and address issues that could affect project timelines or customer expectations.\n\nProvide hands-on leadership, coach team members, solve field problems, and respond to emergency service calls.\n\nVisit job sites to review safety practices, work quality, equipment readiness, and operational risks.\n\nCoordinate with customers, field partners, and regulatory agencies.\n\nSupport employee training, mentoring, hiring, performance reviews, and ongoing development.\n\nAssist with workforce planning, budgeting, and operational forecasting.\n\nMaintain accurate records of payroll, labor hours, equipment use, and project activities.\n\nMonitor equipment condition and arrange maintenance or replacement when needed.\n\nStrengthen customer relationships and support business development efforts.\n\nQualifications\nPrevious leadership experience managing field teams.\n\nExperience in railroad operations, heavy equipment, construction, or a related industry preferred.\n\nStrong understanding of DOT and FRA regulations.\n\nClass A or Class B CDL preferred.\n\nExperience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, trucks, and excavators.\n\nAbility to read and interpret crane load charts and rigging requirements.\n\nStrong communication, coaching, organization, and problem-solving skills.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn operational software.\n\nValid driver’s license with a clean driving record.\n\nAbility to complete required safety training and certification programs.\n\nSchedule & Physical Requirements\nFrequent overnight travel.\n\nOn-call availability, with the ability to report within one hour.\n\nFlexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.\n\nOutdoor work in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments.\n\nActive field role involving walking, working around
