This role is responsible for preparing cutting programs, creating efficient material layouts, and ensuring equipment runs accurately and productively.\nThe successful candidate will work with engineering, production, and quality personnel to improve manufacturing processes, reduce material waste, resolve programming issues, and maintain production standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, edit, and improve CNC programs for laser cutters, punch presses, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment.\n\nReview CAD models, engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and technical specifications to prepare machine programs.\n\nCreate and optimize nesting layouts to improve material usage and reduce scrap.\n\nPrepare production-ready programs and verify accuracy before releasing them to operators.\n\nCoordinate with engineering and production teams to improve part manufacturability and reduce machine cycle times.\n\nIdentify and resolve programming errors and equipment-related production issues.\n\nMaintain organized CNC program files, revision records, and technical documentation.\n\nAssist with first-article inspections and production testing to confirm program accuracy.\n\nEvaluate manufacturing methods and recommend improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.\n\nSupport machine setup activities and determine appropriate tooling requirements.\n\nProvide technical guidance and training to CNC machine operators when needed.\n\nEnsure all programs meet quality specifications and applicable safety procedures.\n\nPerformance Expectations\nMaintain a first-pass program approval rate of at least 98%.\n\nImprove material yield through accurate nesting and programming practices.\n\nReduce machine cycle times and improve production output.\n\nKeep scrap and rework within established quality targets.\n\nComplete and release programs according to production schedules.\n\nIdentify and implement improvements that produce measurable efficiency gains.\n\nFollow established safety requirements and maintain a strong safety record.\n\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\n\nAt least 3 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.\n\nProficiency with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming systems.\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.\n\nExperience programming CNC laser cutting machines, press brakes, punch presses, or similar fabrication equipment.\n\nStrong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing methods.\n\nKnowledge of machine tooling, setup requirements, and production workflows.\n\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.\n\nExperience with nesting software such as SigmaNEST, TruTops, BySoft, or similar programs.\n\nFamiliarity with Amada, Trumpf, Mazak, or comparable CNC equipment.\n\nBackground in Lean Manufacturing and continuous
