Job Summary

We are hiring a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.

This role is suited for someone who can handle emergency repair situations, work independently or with a team, and travel to different locations when needed. 24/7 availability for emergency calls is required.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and related machinery.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Review repair assignments and priorities with the Shop Foreman.
• Troubleshoot urgent mechanical problems and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Document completed work, including mileage, operating hours, dates, and repair information.
• Help minimize equipment downtime by ensuring parts, tools, and other resources are available.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Work with other mechanics and team members to complete repairs efficiently.
• Follow required safety procedures and workplace guidelines.
• Travel locally, out of town, or out of state for emergency repairs, assignments, training, or meetings.
• Perform other mechanical and maintenance tasks as assigned.

What You Need

• 5+ years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, or similar machinery.
• 5+ years of hands-on repair and maintenance experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in two or more of the following areas:
  • Hydraulics
  • Electronics
  • Small engines
  • Other related mechanical systems
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of technical or vocational training in diesel or mechanical repair, or equivalent trade school, dealership, or factory training.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Professional certifications in heavy equipment maintenance or repair are preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize emergency repairs and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Schedule & Travel

• Must be available 24/7 for emergency response.
• Up to 50% travel, including out-of-town and out-of-state assignments.
• Extended hours may be required based on operational needs.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and lifting.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work extended hours when required.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Assistance is required for items over 75 pounds or materials that create lifting or ergonomic challenges.
