The ideal candidate has structural steel fabrication experience, strong inspection skills, and a commitment to quality and workplace safety.\nKey Responsibilities\nExamine fabricated steel components, welds, and coatings for compliance with project requirements and quality standards.\n\nApply AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC, and other applicable industry codes during inspections.\n\nCheck incoming materials, components, and consumables for defects and specification compliance.\n\nIdentify inspected materials and maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and quality documentation.\n\nInspect, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment and quality control instruments.\n\nAssist with welder qualification tests and certification processes.\n\nHelp train employees on welding practices, fitting requirements, and quality procedures.\n\nMaintain controlled drawings and support other quality management activities.\n\nWork with production personnel and management to investigate and correct quality issues.\n\nContribute to process improvements and participate in company training.\n\nFollow established safety procedures and encourage safe work practices.\n\nQualifications\nRequired:\nAt least 2 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.\n\nBackground in quality control, inspection, or a related manufacturing position.\n\nWorking knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and AISC standards.\n\nAbility to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications.\n\nExperience using inspection tools, including:\nFillet weld gauges\n\nV-WAC gauges\n\nSquares\n\nTape measures\n\nOther standard quality inspection equipment\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality and safety.\n\nPreferred:\nCurrent Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.\n\nFamiliarity with nondestructive testing methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT).\n\nAdditional certifications in structural steel fabrication, bolting, coatings, or welding inspection.\n\nPrevious experience in a steel manufacturing facility.\n\nWork Environment\nWork is performed primarily on the production floor, with limited office duties.\n\nRequires working in an active, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.\n\nInvolves extended periods of standing and walking while inspecting materials and fabricated components.\n\nMust be comfortable working in varying
