This role oversees daily production, coordinates staffing and materials, and ensures fabrication work meets quality requirements and delivery schedules.\nRequired: Structural steel fabrication industry experience and previous leadership experience overseeing welders and fitters.\nResponsibilities\nDirect and support welders, fitters, and other fabrication employees.\n\nOversee daily shop operations, including personnel, equipment, tools, and materials.\n\nMaintain production and fabrication schedules to meet project deadlines.\n\nCoordinate deliveries and adjust work hours as needed, including overtime.\n\nEstablish and communicate standard fabrication procedures.\n\nMonitor workmanship and enforce quality control requirements.\n\nIdentify ways to improve production efficiency, employee performance, and product quality.\n\nCoordinate with project management, purchasing, logistics, other departments, and fabrication facilities to keep projects on schedule.\n\nCommunicate updates regarding production status, quality concerns, and deliveries.\n\nMaintain shop equipment, buildings, and appropriate inventory levels.\n\nWork with the first-shift foreman, operations management, and purchasing to address material and inventory needs.\n\nBuild productive working relationships with vendors and suppliers.\n\nBalance workloads and communicate operational needs to regional management.\n\nMake decisions that support customer commitments and company objectives.\n\nEnforce workplace policies and safety requirements.\n\nQualifications\nExperience in structural steel fabrication is required.\n\nPrevious leadership or supervisory experience overseeing welders and fitters is required.\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nStrong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and shop production processes.\n\nExcellent spoken and written English communication skills.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nStrong organizational, customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities and maintain production schedules.\n\nAvailability to work 2nd shift, overtime, and Saturdays as needed.\n\nPay and Opportunity\nStarting pay of $39/hour, with higher pay available depending on experience.\n\nAdditional $3.00/hour second-shift differential.\n\nDirect-hire opportunity for an experienced structural
