Join over 5,000 people across the globe who think that’s work worth doing.\n12Senior Software Engineer - Platform Infrastructure\nWhy We Have This Role\nThe Platform Infrastructure team builds and operates foundational software that engineering teams use to run their services.\nThis role will focus on making workloads on the platform more cost-effective, including through tooling and frameworks that help teams monitor and optimize CPU and memory use. The team runs EKS and supports engineering teams across Qualtrics, with PGF currently an exception until it is rolled in.\nThe role also includes building services in Golang and working on Kubernetes orchestration as the platform's needs evolve.\nEngineering teams are the platform's customers, and the team works across service discovery and orchestration.\nHow You'll Find Success\nDeep knowledge in open source tooling/technologies (Linux systems etc)\nEstablishing productive working relationships with other platform teams, AWS counterparts, security, and compliance teams\nDesigning with an eye towards scalability, both in technical measures and organizational processes\nPossessing a customer-obsessed attitude when working with application teams within the company\nHow You'll Grow\nDevelop broader expertise in Container Orchestration as you build the runtime foundation for the entirety of Qualtrics engineering.\nBuild experience in driving efficiency at scale across the platform, both for cost optimization and platform performance.\nBuild services that support engineering teams across the entirety of Qualtrics.\nThings You'll Do\nInfluence the way that engineers at Qualtrics running applications through best-in-class tooling, and services\nYou will create, deploy, and operate services that ensure our overall platform exceeds goals for availability, scalability, and performance\nYou will help define how Qualtrics engineers operate containerized workloads\nYou will architect the services and design the best practices for service discovery for all of Qualtrics engineering\nParticipate in periodic on-call responsibilities as part of a global team\nWhat We're Looking For On Your Resume\n5+ years of experience in developing and operating large scale software systems.\nExperience with professional software engineering practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documents)\nExperience in high-level languages like Go and scripting languages like Bash\nExperience building software or systems that can serve multiple teams or an entire company.\nExperience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS), including familiarity with workload and resource management, nodepool management, and policy enforcement.\nSkilled at debugging applications within a Linux environment.\nSystems engineering backgrounds are welcome when paired with production software development experience; a background focused entirely on Linux or system administration is not the target profile.\nWhat You Should Know About This Team\nWe work closely with AWS, aligning with our AWS TAMs to understand their internal roadmap of enterprise-focused container orchestration features.\nWe work at tremendous scale; our services must scale to support the entire landscape of Qualtrics engineering.
