This role combines deep technical expertise with strong customer engagement skills and is responsible for driving customers from technical discovery through successful production deployment.\nAs a Lead Implementation Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical owner during implementation engagements, collaborating with customers, Engineering, Product Management, Customer Success, and Technical Support to deliver successful business outcomes.\nThis role is designed with approximately 75% focus on technical deployment, engineering, troubleshooting, and integrations, and 25% focus on implementation consulting, technical discovery, and customer advisory.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Deployment & Engineering\nLead end-to-end deployment and implementation of Qualys cybersecurity solutions for enterprise customers.\nServe as the primary technical owner throughout the customer implementation lifecycle.\nConfigure, deploy, validate, optimize, and troubleshoot complex product deployments across enterprise environments.\nDesign and implement integrations with customer infrastructure, cloud platforms, identity providers, enterprise applications, and security technologies.\nTroubleshoot complex deployment, networking, operating system, authentication, API, cloud, and integration challenges.\nDevelop automation and deployment workflows using APIs and scripting to improve implementation efficiency and customer outcomes.\nCollaborate closely with Product Engineering and Technical Support to investigate product issues, validate fixes, and resolve customer escalations.\nPerform root cause analysis for implementation challenges and recommend scalable technical solutions.\nServe as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across assigned Qualys product portfolios.\nMentor implementation engineers and contribute to implementation standards, best practices, and continuous process improvements.\nCustomer Implementation & Consulting\nConduct technical discovery workshops to understand customer environments, security architecture, business requirements, and deployment objectives.\nTranslate customer requirements into implementation strategies and deployment plans.\nGuide enterprise customers through implementation milestones, production readiness, and operational best practices.\nDeliver implementation documentation, technical knowledge transfer, and deployment recommendations.\nBuild trusted relationships with customer Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and IT Operations teams.\nPartner with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Product Management, and Engineering to ensure successful customer adoption.\nRequired Qualifications\n8+ years of experience implementing enterprise cloud-based SaaS solutions.\n\nProven experience leading enterprise customer implementations from technical discovery through production deployment.\nStrong customer-facing experience working with enterprise IT and Security organizations.\nHands-on experience integrating enterprise platforms using REST APIs.\nExperience using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar to automate deployments, integrations, operational workflows, or troubleshooting tasks.\nExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to independently lead multiple enterprise implementation engagements.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nPreferred Experience\nCandidates with implementation experience in one or more of the following solution domains are highly preferred:\nVulnerability & Exposure Management\nPatch Management\nPolicy Compliance\nEndpoint Security / EDR\nCloud Security (CNAPP, CSPM, CWPP)\nContainer Security\nWeb Application Security\nExternal Attack Surface Management\nAsset Management\nIdentity & Access Management\nSecurity Information & Event Management (SIEM)\nTechnical Skills\nCandidates are not expected to possess expertise in every technology listed below. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong competency across multiple areas depending on their background and implementation experience.\nExperience in several of the following areas is preferred:\nWindows and Linux administration\nEnterprise networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, Firewalls, VPNs, Proxy Servers, Load Balancers)\nPublic cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)\nIdentity and authentication technologies (Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)\nREST APIs and API-based integrations\nScripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages\nVirtualization and container technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)\nEnterprise integrations such as ITSM, SIEM, or Identity platforms\nEnterprise security architecture and deployment best practices\nPreferred Industry Background\nExperience implementing enterprise cybersecurity or cloud-native SaaS solutions within customer environments is highly preferred.
