Its offerings include the most energy-efficient quantum computers for data centers, full-stack quantum computing solutions accessible via the cloud, and algorithm access services for academic and industrial customers.\nFollowing a pragmatic, step-by-step roadmap, Quandela has been deploying industrial-grade systems since 2023 while developing future generations of fault-tolerant quantum computers capable of scaling through the integration of thousands of photonic components. Quandela is committed to making quantum computing accessible to all in order to address the most complex industrial and societal challenges. Our ambition is to build large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computers.\nLearn more at: https://www.quandela.com/\n-\nAbout this position:\n Within Scalable Architecture, we model the physical systems behind our technologies to understand their limitations and guide future designs.\nAs part of this effort, you will join our Device Physics team, developing theoretical and numerical models of Quandela's quantum-dot-based photon sources in close collaboration with experimental teams.\nYour work will cover both quantum modelling and the development of scientific simulation tools, from investigating physical phenomena to improving existing models and making them usable by other researchers.\nThis role combines theoretical quantum physics, hands-on numerical research and scientific computing, with opportunities to contribute to ongoing projects, support experimental investigations and explore new modelling approaches.\n-\nWhat you'll do:\n As a Quantum Information Scientist working on Single Photon Source Theory & Modelling, you will contribute across two complementary areas:\n> Theoretical modelling & scientific simulations\nDevelop and extend theoretical models of quantum-dot-based single photon sources. \nInvestigate quantum dynamics, decoherence and environmental interactions.\nModel open quantum systems and relevant physical noise mechanisms.\nTranslate theoretical models into numerical algorithms and simulation workflows.\nValidate predictions against analytical results and experimental data.\nSupport ongoing research projects and photon-source investigations.\n> Scientific computing & simulation tools\nDevelop and extend scientific simulation code in Python and C++.\nImplement quantum-dynamics models using suitable numerical methods.\nIntegrate new physical effects into existing simulation frameworks.\nMaintain, test and improve research code and numerical workflows.\nMake simulation tools reliable, documented and reusable by researchers.\n-\nHow you'll grow:\nDuring your first months: Get familiar with Quandela's quantum-dot systems, existing models and simulation tools while contributing to ongoing projects.\nWithin 6-12 months: Take ownership of modelling activities, extend existing frameworks and improve their usability across the team.\nLonger term: Explore new theoretical approaches and help guide future research directions in quantum-dot modeling.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for:\nWe are looking for a scientist combining strong theoretical quantum physics and hands-on numerical modelling skills.\nYou should be comfortable translating physical questions into simulations and developing scientific code that other researchers can use.\nMust-have:\nPhD in Quantum Physics, Theoretical Physics or a related field. \nStrong foundations in quantum mechanics and theoretical modelling.\nHands-on experience with numerical simulations of quantum systems.\nScientific programming in Python / C++.\nAbility to assess modelling assumptions and validate results.\nExperience developing and maintaining scientific research code.\nAbility to collaborate with theoretical and experimental teams.\nProfessional English.\nImportant, but you can grow here:\nQuantum-dot physics and semiconductor photon sources.\nQuantum dynamics and open quantum systems.\nQuantum simulation packages such as QuTiP.\nExperience extending existing simulation frameworks.\nModelling of physical noise and decoherence mechanisms.\nBonus:\nPhonon-induced noise or other semiconductor noise mechanisms.\nNumerical methods for quantum-optical simulations.\nConnecting theoretical models with experimental measurements.\nImproving research code performance and usability.\nUse of AI tools in scientific research and modelling.\nWe welcome candidates from different theoretical and computational physics backgrounds. Direct quantum-dot or photonic quantum-computing experience is not required\nBenefits\nJoin a research team where theoretical modelling, numerical simulations and scientific computing directly contribute to experimental research and hardware development.\nWork on quantum-dot physics and the modelling of semiconductor photon sources.\nCollaborate closely with theoretical and experimental physicists.\nDevelop scientific models and simulation tools used across research projects.\nContribute to publications, conferences and new research directions.\nPlus:\nCompetitive compensation aligned with your experience and level of responsibility. \nCompany savings plan. \n100% health coverage through Alan. \nTransport reimbursement or sustainable mobility bonus. \nSwile meal vouchers. \nAccess to Gymlib. \nProcess\nTalent Acquisition interview, 30-45 min \nScientific interview with members of the team \nDiscussion of your previous research and numerical-modelling experience \nTechnical scientific discussion \nReference checks\nFinal discussion with the team \nOffer \nThe scientific discussions are intended to understand how you approach theoretical modelling, develop and validate numerical simulations, and work with scientific code, including how you assess assumptions and connect results with physical systems.\nBeyond that:\n If you enjoy combining quantum theory, numerical simulations and scientific computing, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to real hardware challenges while taking ownership of scientific models and tools that support Quandela's research.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6121,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"phd","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Quantum
