Quandela is committed to making quantum computing accessible to all in order to address the most complex industrial and societal challenges.\nLearn more at: Quandela | Leading Photonic Quantum Computing Solutions\nJoin Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation\n About the Role\nAs part of the continued growth of our activities and the deployment of our photonic Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) to international customers, we are looking for a Technical Support & Operations Technician / Engineer to join our team.\nYou will contribute to the operational monitoring of Quandela's QPUs and other hardware products deployed at customer sites, ensuring their proper operation and supporting maintenance activities, both remotely and on site.\nWorking at the interface between Quandela's technical teams and system users, you will develop a broad understanding of our products, particularly the interactions between hardware equipment and software control interfaces. You will perform initial technical investigations when issues arise and involve the relevant technical experts when required.\nThe role combines technical support, maintenance, field interventions, training and continuous improvement in a complex and international technological environment.\nInternal training will provide you with the specific knowledge required to understand our technology and systems. No previous experience in quantum computing is required.\nAs our support and maintenance activities are still being structured, you will also contribute to improving our processes, tools and operational methods.\nYour Key Responsibilities:\nSystem operations & technical support\nYou will contribute to maintaining the operational performance and availability of QPUs and other hardware products deployed at customer sites.\nMonitor the operation and performance of installed systems.\nAnalyse operational data and identify anomalies or performance degradation.\nPerform initial technical investigations to characterise issues and help determine the appropriate resolution path.\nFollow up on technical incidents and corrective actions with the relevant teams.\nMaintain accurate technical records of systems and interventions.\nProvide remote technical support to customers and trained personnel working on the systems.\nMaintenance & customer-site interventions\nYou will contribute to the preparation and follow-up of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.\nTrack maintenance schedules and anticipate upcoming interventions.\nIdentify the resources, equipment, spare parts and technical expertise required for each intervention.\nPerform diagnostic, maintenance and system recovery operations according to established procedures.\nSupport technicians and technical experts remotely or on site during interventions.\nPerform functional checks and testing following maintenance activities.\nTrack completed actions, outstanding issues and upcoming maintenance requirements.\nThe role involves business travel within France and internationally, with frequency and duration depending on the needs of our installed systems.\nUser training & technical guidance\nYou will help customers and technical operators become increasingly autonomous in operating and maintaining our QPUs.\nTrain users and technical operators on routine QPU operation and maintenance activities.\nSupport users in operating the systems and their control interfaces.\nShare best practices for operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.\nContribute to the creation and improvement of training materials and technical documentation.\nDocumentation & continuous improvement\nYou will ensure the traceability of technical operations and contribute to structuring our support and maintenance activities.\nPrepare technical monitoring, intervention and maintenance reports.\nMaintain up-to-date technical documentation for installed systems.\nContribute to writing and improving diagnostic, maintenance and operating procedures.\nCapitalise on field experience to improve reliability and facilitate future interventions.\nContribute to implementing tools and methods for the structured monitoring of our installed systems.\nRequirements\nEducation & experience\nAssociate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree in instrumentation, applied physics, optoelectronics or a related technical field.\nThe position is open to both experienced technicians and engineers with a strong interest in hands-on, operational activities.\nPrevious experience in operations, system integration, maintenance or technical support for complex systems is preferred.\nExperience working in a multidisciplinary hardware/software environment is highly valued.\nExperience supporting or maintaining technical equipment installed at customer sites would be an advantage.\nTechnical skills Required\nGood understanding of complex technical systems combining hardware and software.\nKnowledge of electronics, instrumentation and/or control systems.\nAbility to analyse operational data and characterise technical issues.\nAbility to perform diagnostic and maintenance operations according to established procedures.\nAbility to identify and involve the appropriate technical experts when required.\nStrong organisational skills and ability to rigorously track interventions, deadlines and outstanding actions.\nAbility to follow, write and improve technical procedures.\nProfessional fluency in English, both written and spoken, as you will interact directly with international customers and colleagues, deliver training sessions and produce technical documentation.\nWillingness and ability to travel internationally.\nNice to have\nKnowledge of optics, photonics and/or cryogenics.\nHands-on experience with optical systems, including basic optical alignment.\nExperience operating or maintaining cryogenic systems.\nBasic programming or scripting
