(NYSE: PWR).\nBuild your career at Irby Construction.\nAbout this Role\nThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager (PM) in planning, coordinating, and executing Transmission and Distribution (T&D) power line construction projects from initiation through closeout. The APM follows up on assigned project tasks and deliverables and helps manage schedules, costs, documentation, and coordination with field operations and support functions. Work assignments may include multiple projects concurrently and provide hands-on exposure to engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, construction management, safety, quality, and project administration.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssist Project Managers with the planning and execution of transmission and distribution power line construction projects.\nAssist in developing the initial project schedule with engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction management personnel.\nCoordinate daily project activities with field supervision and construction crews and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.\nParticipate in value engineering and constructability reviews.\nWork with procurement on vendor and subcontractor scopes, purchase orders, subcontract packages, and schedule exhibits for PM review.\nSupport project-specific safety planning, incident reporting, and incident investigations with Health and Safety personnel.\nAssist with project schedules, monthly project review reports, forecasting, and other management reporting.\nTrack labor, equipment, subcontractor, material, and other project costs and support project budgets and forecasts.\nDocument project changes and assist with pricing, change orders, and related correspondence.\nTrack RFIs, submittals, contracts, engineering documents, field reports, and other required project records.\nMonitor engineering/design, procurement, and construction progress and identify delays or issues requiring management attention.\nMonitor production metrics and labor productivity and support operational reporting.\nConduct site visits to observe project progress, work quality, safety compliance, and conformance with project requirements.\nProvide field document control, create daily reports, and take project progress photographs as required.\nCoordinate with clients, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal support functions; prepare meeting notes and follow-up items as needed.\nFacilitate project closeout and warranty administration, including final documentation and punch-list items as applicable.\nPerform post-construction cost review and reporting and participate in lessons-learned activities.\nAdhere to company standards, policies, and procedures and perform other duties assigned by the PM, including acting as PM when deemed qualified by the PM or Operations Director.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience, or a combination of work and education, may be substituted.\nExperience with engineering, design, construction, estimating, scheduling, bidding, project management, contract administration, field supervision, budget control, safety, or quality assurance is helpful.\nSkills & Competencies\nKnowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation work.\nUnderstanding of the project design process, integrated EPC processes, and construction means and methods.\nStrong analytical, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team and interact effectively with project stakeholders.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.\nFamiliarity with estimating, scheduling, project management, and cost-control software and processes.\nPreferred\nExperience supporting transmission, distribution, substation, or similar electric utility infrastructure projects.\nFamiliarity with project planning, estimating, scheduling, procurement, project controls, and change management.\nFamiliarity with union and non-union construction environments.\nTravel Requirements\nPosition will be approximately 50% office-based at Irby Construction’s corporate office in Richland, Mississippi, and 50% travel.\nRegular travel will be required to support projects in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Amarillo, Texas; and other locations throughout the Central Region based on project and business needs.\nMust maintain a valid driver’s license and be comfortable with ongoing project-related travel.\nPhysical Qualifications\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.\nCapable of walking, standing, and climbing for extended periods while visiting active construction sites.\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.\nVisual and auditory ability to safely navigate active T&D construction sites;
