Quanta’s focus on the utility industry and HBK’s focus on constructability in our designs has made our integration into the Quanta family of companies seamless.\nAbout this Role\nAn Electrical Distribution Associate Graduate Engineer at HBK Engineering is a role designed for recent engineering graduates entering the professional workforce. This entry-level position involves providing contract engineering resources to a local electric and gas utility in Missoula, Montana.\nThe role supports the company’s expanding efforts to connect new customers to the local utility grid. Additionally, this position provides critical engineering support for existing customers through capacity upgrade projects, system rebuilds, and the relocation of existing utility infrastructure.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign engineering systems in compliance with relevant specifications, codes, and client requirements for overhead and subsurface utility projects. \nDeploy creative and unique solutions to address a wide variety of complex electrical, structural, civil, and construction-related challenges. \nOwn all phases of the design lifecycle from initiation through construction completion and project closeout. \nPrepare detailed engineering and construction documents using a variety of software tools including DDS (Distribution Design Studio), GIS systems, Trimble surveying equipment, and client-specific enterprise asset management platforms. \nAnalyze information from supplementary data sources including topographical survey, utility atlas information, field sketches, client records, manufacturer equipment datasheets, etc. \nIndependently manage time and schedule to achieve project milestones. \nPerform field walkdowns with internal staff, clients, customers, governance authorities, and construction partners.\nObtain proper permits and easements as required.\nWhat You'll Bring\nAn ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams. \nStrong technology skills and an understanding of the Office365 suite of tools. \nWorking knowledge of 2D CADD software (AutoCAD or similar) including its use to generate layout drawings or other project materials. \nUnderstanding of remote communication software. \nAbility to come up to speed quickly on in-process projects and hit the ground running. \nExperience collaborating with a team in order to complete a larger project. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nThe persistence to see projects through to completion. \nAdaptable to change in a dynamic team environment. \nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program. \nEIT Certification.
