Our culture is about supporting an environment where all employees can be themselves, are valued, and have an equal opportunity to succeed.\nAbout this Role\nThe Field Mechanic travels throughout their assigned region and is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of construction vehicles and heavy equipment/machinery. This role supports field operations by ensuring all vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards. Work is performed primarily at job sites.\nWhat You'll Do\nPerform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles, including pickup trucks, medium/heavy-duty trucks, bucket trucks, and other equipment.\nDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.\nInspect, troubleshoot, and repair aerial lift systems, booms, outriggers, and related components.\nConduct preventative maintenance (PM) services to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.\nRespond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs as needed.\nTravel with storm crews, as needed.\nEnsure all vehicles meet DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.\nMaintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders.\nCoordinate with operations and fleet management to prioritize repairs and minimize disruption.\nManage parts inventory and communicate parts needs in a timely manner.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat You'll Bring\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\n· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; technical or trade school certification preferred.\n· 5+ years of experience working on commercial vehicles or heavy equipment.\n· Experience with hydraulic systems and aerial equipment (bucket trucks) strongly preferred.\n· Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, braking systems, and diagnostics.\n· Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\n· Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documents.\n· Strong organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.\n· Ability to identify and solve issues.\n· Good interpersonal skills.\n· Self-motivated.\n· Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently with good time management.\n· Ability to conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of SEC, working effectively in a diverse work environment.\nWhat You'll Get\nDIRECT REPORTS: None\nLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license required.
