(NYSE: PWR).\nBuild your career at Irby Construction.\nAbout this Role\nIrby Construction Company is seeking a skilled and dependable Powerline Wire stringing/ aerial lift equipment shop mechanic to maintain, repair, inspect, and prepare specialized equipment used in overhead powerline construction and wire stringing operations\nAn Aerial Lift/ Wire Stringing Equipment Mechanic at Irby Construction Company shall possess the ability to operate/drive any truck, including tractor trailers to support all assigned work activity. Employees must have two (2) years of experience. A valid commercial driver’s license is preferred.\nWhat You'll Do\nOperate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.\nMaintain and repair tensioners, pullers, reel stands, winches, bullwheels, generators, compressors and related equipment.\nDismantle and reassembles equipment, using hoist and hand tools. \nExamine parts for damage or excessive wear, use test equipment and gauges.\nTest overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.\nMay repair, adjust and maintain specialized machinery, such as spacer buggies, drilling and cutting equipment.\nPlan work procedure, using charts, technical manuals and experience.\nRaise equipment using hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of equipment.\nRemove as needed, engine, transmission, or differential, using wrenches and hoist.\nDisassembles unit and inspect parts for wear, using test equipment, calipers, and thickness gauges.\nMay repair, replace parts or send equipment off to have parts, such as hydraulic pumps, valves, controllers, cylinders, and hoses.\nRewires ignition system, lights and instrument panel.\nIdentify safety equipment on a specific piece of equipment.\nRead and use the operations manual of a specific piece of equipment.\nPerform general cleanup of equipment.\nIdentify components and controls of machine.\nAble to perform daily walk arounds, routine and periodic checks, inspections, and the maintenance of equipment. \nPerform basic operation of equipment.\nAssist with the service and maintenance schedule of the equipment.\nRead and use all capacity charts for the equipment.\nPerform the setup of the equipment, connect and disconnect trailers.\nCapable of loading and unloading equipment and materials.\nCapable of securing loads on trailers.\nAdheres to all Company and Safety Policies while in the course of conducting Company business.\nShall attend training classes as prescribed by the Training Department.\nCapable of operating most construction equipment, booms, etc. if needed.\nMay also perform other duties as needed.\nTrustworthy and safety minded and must be conversant with all safety procedures/requirements applicable to the equipment.\nHave the ability to spot or recognize potential danger areas and take evasive actions on his/her own initiative.\nLifting and handling materials up to 60 pounds unassisted.\nWalking and working across uneven terrain.\nExposure to hot and cold weather conditions\nClimbing on and off large trucks and equipment\nWhat You'll Bring\nIs required to hold a valid driver’s license.\nMay be required to obtain light crane certification for boom trucks etc.\nMay attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.\nAll individuals in this personnel classification must meet requirements of OSHA standard 29 CFT 1910 for the specific operated equipment.\nWhat You'll Get\nPaid Vacation \nPaid Holidays\nMedical \nDental \nVision\n401K\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
