Discover how your skills and dedication can make a real difference to us.\nAbout this Role\nSr. Mechanical Engineer, P.E.\n(10+ Years Experience)\nNorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer, P.E. to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role supports EPC and engineering design projects for oil & gas, petrochemical, and data center clients.\nThe Sr. Mechanical Engineer for this position will be responsible for the development of mechanical and piping design of energy, midstream, petrochemical facilities and data centers. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team and independently to perform design development, equipment specifications, calculations, safety and code compliance as it pertains to the design of Energy Facilities.\nWhat You'll Do\nEngineering & Design\nDevelop mechanical and piping designs for pipeline facilities, compressor stations, pump stations, tank terminals, and data center facilities. Ensure all work meets ASME standards, including ASME BPVC Sec. VIII Div. 1 and American Petroleum Institute practices and standard such as API 610, 618 & 682.\nPerform line sizing calculations, pipe support load analysis, and nozzle load stress evaluations in accordance with applicable codes and standards. \nLead piping layout development and review PPFDs and P&IDs to ensure mechanical designs align with process and operational requirements.\nSpecify rotating and fixed equipment including valves, pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, turbines, separators, and filtration systems.\nOther responsibilities include specialty item specifications and review of pipe specifications.\nDeliverable Management & Coordination\nCoordinate mechanical deliverables with project team members across engineering disciplines. \nPrepare hourly cost and resource estimates for project bids. \nInterface as necessary with Company engineering and project management, drafting, procurement, as well as outside consultant engineering firms, inspection, and operations personnel. \nReview and integrate company standards, regulatory requirements, and site-specific data (including geotechnical reports) into mechanical designs. \nPerform QA/QC reviews of mechanical drawings, calculations, and technical documents. \nOccasional travel to the job site to meet with clients and construction personnel as necessary to scope projects and collect information for design.\nRoutinely handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks.\nWhat You'll Bring\nQualifications\n10 years’ experience working with process engineers on mechanical equipment, updating P&ID's, sizing pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and pressure vessels.\nBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering\nLicensure of Professional Engineering in Louisiana/Texas\nProven ability to interpret and apply applicable codes and standards including:ASME BPVC Section VIII\nASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8\nAPI 610, 674/675/676, 682\nAPI 520/521, API 620, API 650, API 12C\nTitle 49 CFR Parts 190-199\n\nExperience working with process engineers on mechanical equipment\nExperience with Caesar II pipe stress a plus. \nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
