(NYSE: PWR).\nBuild your career at Irby Construction.\nAbout this Role\nSubstation Foreman at Irby Construction Company shall possess a minimum of one (4) years of experience in a Journeymen electrical role. Substation, Commercial, or Industrial construction Journeymen electrical experience is a plus. Journeymen electricians must have a valid journeymen electrician card or be able to pass the Journeymen electricians test per government standards. The individual will possess all of the skills required for assignment from the foreman for complete electrical installations. Such an employee shall also have in depth knowledge of all applicable OSHA codes and standards, as well as the National Electrical Code. THIS JOB IS FOR TEXAS FOR SEVERAL LOCATIONS.\nWhat You'll Do\nTypical Substation construction from Greenfield to Remodels. This includesTrenching for ground grid & conduits\nBackfilling and compacting\nFoundation drilling, digging and installation \nLifting placing and setting structural steel \nLifting placing and installing insulators and busswork\nLifting, placing & installing substation equipment such as breakers, metering, transformers, arrestors etc. \nMoving and pulling control cable to medium voltage cable\nPlacing finish stone and smoothing out the yard\n\nJob Specific Duties\nBeing able to read and understand control cable schedules from the client. \nAbility to ensure that conduit sizes are correct for control cable pulls and installation techniques. \nHave the knowledge or ability to read P&C prints for proper termination of multiple conductor control cables up to 12/C #12 all the way down to 1/C 4/0 cables.\nHave the knowledge or ability to learn medium voltage terminations up to 34.5kv terminations.Irby does offer medium voltage termination training and certification.\n\nKnowledge base to understand DC systems as well as AC systems. \nSupplying insight on project construction as far a control cable pulling, installation and termination. \nAbility & skill set to work in energized panels \nKnowledge of electrical, below grade or concrete foundation trade a plus. \nHigh Voltage Substation construction knowledge or experience a plus. \nAccountable for quality of work to ensure that it is being performed according to specifications. \nWhat You'll Bring\nAdheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nMust be willing to stay out of town. Typical work weeks are 4-10 hour shifts or 5-10 hour shifts. Available to travel as the project requires. \nWilling to work over-time and be able to work extended periods of time. \nMay work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems.\nMay attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.\nWalking and working across uneven terrain.\nClimbing on and off large trucks and equipment.\nMust be able to work outside 100% of the time. We work in inclement weather that includes heat, cold, rain and possible snow. \nAble to lift in excess 50 pounds on a daily basis. \nWilling to work off the ground in man baskets.
