(NYSE: PWR).\nBuild your career at Irby Construction.\nAbout this Role\nA Substation Welder at Irby Construction Company shall possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in welding metal. 6G welding certification for Aluminum buss pipe is required. The individual will possess all the skills required for assignment from the foreman for welding. Such an employee shall also have in depth knowledge of all applicable OSHA codes and standards, especially for welding.\nWhat You'll Do\nTo be able to accurately take field measurements for string busswork, tube buss and make the cut. Then proceed to weld connectors to busswork.Aluminum connectors to aluminum busswork from 1” to 6” aluminum buss sizes. \nAluminum connectors to aluminum cable up to 2000 AAC. \n\nMust obtain or be able to obtain an Aluminum Welders Certification. \nKnowledge of electrical, below grade or concrete foundation trade a plus. \nHigh Voltage Substation construction knowledge or experience a plus. \nTypes of equipment commonly used for substation aluminum welders12k lb. lulls with forks \nMan lift 45’ articulating to 120’ boom\nHorizontal band saws\nMIG welders\n\nAccountable for quality of work to ensure that it is being performed according to specifications. \nWhat You'll Bring\nCertification for 6G welding aluminum buss pipe required\nAdheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nMust be willing to stay out of town. Typical work weeks are 4-10 hour shifts or 5-10 hour shifts. Available to travel as the project requires.\nWilling to work over-time and be able to work extended periods of time. \nMay work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems.\nMay attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training.\nWalking and working across uneven terrain.\nClimbing on and off large trucks and equipment.\nMust be able to work outside 100% of the time. We work in inclement weather that includes heat, cold, rain and possible snow. \nAble to lift in excess 50 pounds on a daily basis. \nWilling to work off the ground in man baskets.
