All employees should work at their assigned location; however, this role may offer the opportunity to work remotely up to 2 days per week, with approval.\nThe Endpoint Engineer will function as a seasoned and proven endpoint engineer on the support services team to ensure our endpoint infrastructure is consistently up-to-date, stable, and aligned with IT best-practices and our information security program. This role will report to the IT Engineering Manager and work in partnership with our global IT organization, including engineering, enterprise apps, and the support team. In this role, you will oversee our endpoint infrastructure and systems and ensure standards are upheld and implemented consistently and uniformly across the global enterprise. Your primary responsibilities will include endpoint configuration and management, patch management, desktop image creation, management and deployment, and application packaging and deployment, among others. While many of our endpoints are or will be supported through Microsoft-centric technologies (e.g., Entra, Active Directory, Intune, and Defender for Endpoint (DfE)) our environment is heterogeneous and includes Mac and Linux endpoints as well.\nYour hands-on expertise will be critical in helping to execute an enterprise-wide IT strategy and roadmap that is aligned and positioned to innovate and deliver compelling business value on a global scale. You will work to ensure stakeholders have access to our systems and services whenever and wherever they need them.\nYou will be supported by a global IT organization, providing innovative solutions and services to scientific teams to increase collaboration, productivity, and development of quantum software, applications, and hardware which will have a future impact on our everyday lives. Previous experience in a relatable role working as part of a high-performing team is preferred. A natural desire to collaborate, problem solve, and exceed end-user expectations is ideal for this position.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInstall, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and drivers.\nDeploy and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to secure and control mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.\nPerform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and system optimizations, for both desktops and mobile devices.\nTroubleshoot desktop hardware and software issues, as well as mobile device-related problems, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.\nRespond to user support requests and provide technical assistance to resolve desktop and mobile device issues.\nCollaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of desktop and mobile systems with network infrastructure and enterprise applications.\nCreate and maintain documentation related to desktop configurations, mobile device policies, and troubleshooting steps.\nAssist in the planning and implementation of desktop and mobile device infrastructure projects, such as hardware refresh cycles and software upgrades.\nStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to desktop computing and mobile device management.\nProactively engage with leadership, stakeholders, and end users to foster a culture built on collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to respond to and resolve after-hours events or crises.\nMay have the opportunity to travel to other sites within the scope of duties.\nYOU MUST HAVE:\nHigh School Diploma/ GED minimum\nMinimum 5+ years’ experience in heterogenous desktop and endpoint administration, with a focus on enterprise-level and geographically distributed environments.\n Minimum 5+ years’ experience and expertise in desktop imaging, deployment, and patch management including reconfiguring, pruning services, and optimizing performance. \nProven experience as an endpoint engineer or similar role, preferably with experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM).\nDue to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.\nDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.\nWE VALUE:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent formal training.\nCertifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator, ITIL, CompTIA A+.\nExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Defender for Endpoint. Experience working with Intune from the ground up is a plus.\nExperience with JAMF is a plus.\nExperience with ManageEngine Endpoint Central is a plus.\nExperience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies, such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps, Azure Virtual Desktop, or similar.\nKnowledge of endpoint security solutions and best practices.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.\nStrong technical knowledge of desktop hardware, operating systems, software applications, networking, and IT infrastructure.\nKnowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and task efficiency.\nAbility to document procedures and design workflows to improve workplace support.\nRelentless pursuit of customer service and employee satisfaction.\nProficiency in IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and tools.\nReliability and a willingness to be flexible in meeting the demands of a fast-moving business.\nProven experience as an endpoint engineer or similar role, preferably with experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM).\nExtensive and demonstrable knowledge of IT systems, services, and hardware (peripherals and endpoints) and enterprise-level tools, standards, and procedures.\nStrong expertise in Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), Office 365 suite, Active Directory, Group Policy, DfE, and Intune.\nProven experience supporting Mac and/or Linux endpoints at the enterprise
