Responsibilities:\nDesign, build and lab testing of passive and active opto-mechanical systems and component testing for quantum computers, including opto-mechanical prototype maturation and design for producibility goals.\nPerform performance analysis, qualification/inspection reports and comparison of different approaches/designs with respect to key figures of merit including trade studies\nCollaborate with the larger optical design, opto-mechanical design, and integrated photonics teams and provide creative solutions for better performance. \nMonitoring and automation of optical and opto-mechanical systems\nLaser setup, characterization, and optimization\nYOU MUST HAVE:\nCurrently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program\nGraduating December 2027 or later\nDue to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status\nDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.\nWE VALUE:\nIndividuals pursuing Engineering / Optics / Physics graduate programs\nExperience with theoretical and practical aspects of imaging and laser optics, including micro-optics\nExperience with scientific programming languages or optical simulation tools such as Matlab, Python, COMSOL, or similar\nInterpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration\nExperience with optical design programs such as Code V, Zemax, Lighttools, FRED, or similar.\nExperience with Mechanical design programs such as Solid Works or Onshape\nCommitment to return to degree-program after the completion of the
