Installation of on-premises units are already planned for Singapore and Oracle.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work remotely from an approved location. The successful candidate may be based at any US Quantinuum office or work remotely where business requirements allow, while traveling extensively to Quantinuum facilities and customer locations worldwide in support of quantum system deployments. To develop deep familiarity with Helios hardware and software, the candidate will participate in system integration, validation, commissioning, and shipment-readiness activities across Quantinuum sites, both in person and remotely as required.\nAs a key member of the deployment organization, they will then focus on critical installation, commissioning, validation, and acceptance activities at customer facilities, serving as a technical authority for quantum system performance during deployment. Working alongside experts in atomic physics, hardware, software, controls, lasers, cryogenics, and systems engineering, they will help deliver some of the world's most advanced quantum computers into operational customer environments.\nBeyond Helios, the candidate will play an important role in shaping Quantinuum's future on-premises quantum computing offerings by contributing deployment experience, field feedback, and technical expertise to the design, execution, serviceability, and scalability of next-generation systems.\nThis role includes extensive international travel supporting major customer deployments and business-critical installations worldwide. Deployment assignments may involve extended on-site presence, typically ranging from several weeks to multiple months, with remote or office-based work between deployments. Outside active deployment windows, travel is expected to be approximately 25%, depending on program needs, training, customer support, and future installation planning.\nAll applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPrepare Helios systems for shipment, relocation, installation, bring-up, validation, and customer acceptance. \nServe as the deployment team's subject matter expert for atomic physics, trapped-ion operations, and qubit performance, providing technical leadership during critical integration and validation activities. \nOwn deployment success criteria related to quantum system performance, validation, verification, and customer acceptance testing. \nDiagnose and resolve complex issues spanning quantum hardware, controls, software, optics, vacuum systems, electronics, and supporting infrastructure. \nLead technical decision-making during high-pressure integration and validation windows at Quantinuum and customer sites. \nParticipate in integration and validation of Helios systems at Quantinuum prior to deployment. \nProvide remote support and on-site service for deployed Helios systems with the support of subject matter experts and a global technical team. \nTrain internal team members and, where appropriate, customer-side personnel on deployment processes, validation workflows, operational readiness, and best practices. \nImprove and mature deployment plans, standard work, work instructions, test plans, troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and validation processes. \nPartner with internal engineering, product, operations, and service teams to translate field lessons learned into future product and deployment improvements. \nContribute to future on-premises hardware offerings beyond Helios, including design-for-deployment, execution planning, commissioning strategy, and serviceability improvements. \nMaintain strong focus on business success, technical progress, customer outcomes, safety, documentation discipline, and professional collaboration. \nYOU MUST HAVE:\nPh.D. required\n7+ years of relevant post-graduate experience, inclusive of M.S. or Ph.D. experience, as a technical contributor or leader in atomic physics, trapped-ion systems, quantum computing, advanced experimental physics, or a related technical discipline. \nWill be required to complete international travel, including extended customer-site deployments. \nDue to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or worker granted asylum or refugee status.\nDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a ultra-high vacuum systems, analog and digital electronics, laboratory hardware control, Python, physical modelling, and data analysis \nA strong drive to exceed performance and schedule expectations \nCommitment to documenting work via shared note taking as well as the creation and maintenance of standard work documentation, test plans, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation
