You will work individually and in collaboration with a team of scientists and engineers across multiple Quantinuum locations. You should be comfortable achieving results both independently and in close collaboration with a team.\nAll applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.\nKey responsibilities:\nBuild, operate, and maintain trapped ion systems and related support infrastructure that employee both free-space optics and integrated photonics for light delivery\nDesign experiments, collect and analyze data, and present results to a variety of stakeholders\nHelp build an ion-trapping lab from the ground up\nCollaborate with other scientists, engineers, and fabrication experts to validate integrated photonic and trapped-ion technologies\nReview scientific literature, identify and implement improvements in experimental workflow\nTravel expectations of roughly 10% , dependent on business needs.\nYOU MUST HAVE:\nPh.D. completed prior to starting\nMinimum 5+ years of experience with trapped-ion systems (PhD inclusive)\nMinimum 3+ years of experience programming control systems for data collection and analysis (PhD inclusive)\nDue to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status. \nDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China
