This role is intended for researchers and algorithm developers with a strong background in quantum information, and preferably quantum algorithms, who can connect advanced theory with real-world use cases and hardware-aware implementation.\nThe role spans application-driven algorithm research, solution design, benchmarking, simulation, and optimization for our specific quantum backend. This position requires strong independent research ability, as the position requires leading new knowledge domains within the company.\nKey responsibilities\nResearch and develop quantum algorithms for real-world problems in domains where quantum computing may offer an advantage. \nDesign end-to-end algorithmic solutions, including mathematical formulation, quantum subroutines, circuit construction, and resource estimation. \nBenchmark algorithmic cost and feasibility using relevant metrics such as qubit count, circuit depth, gate complexity, runtime, sampling requirements, and error sensitivity. \nSimulate and evaluate candidate solutions and optimize them for the company’s specific hardware backend and compiler stack. \nIdentify quantum algorithms and application areas that best match the strengths and roadmap of the company’s hardware, including capability-driven demonstrations in addition to client-driven use cases. \nContribute reusable building blocks to an internal synthesis and algorithm library. \nWork closely with compiler, control, and hardware teams to ensure that algorithmic designs are practical and well aligned with execution constraints. \nRequirements and skills\nPhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, with strong emphasis on quantum information or quantum computing. \nStrong background in quantum information theory. \nSolid understanding of quantum algorithms and quantum circuit design. \nExperience in research-level problem solving, including turning open-ended problems into structured technical approaches. \nStrong programming skills for simulation, prototyping, and evaluation, preferably in Python and relevant scientific computing tools. \nAbility to independently investigate unfamiliar domains and build technical leadership in emerging subject areas. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex ideas clearly across interdisciplinary teams. \nAdvantage\nPhD or equivalent research experience in quantum algorithms or quantum applications. \nExperience in one or more application domains such as quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning, optimization, materials science, nonlinear PDEs, or related computational sciences. \nPrior knowledge in advanced classical algorithmic solutions, including full mathematical formulation of such problems \nGeneral\nWe are located at the Science Park, by the Weizmann Institute.\nFull collaboration with the experimental & theoretical groups at the Weizmann Institute.\nInterested in this role?\nGet in touch or apply now.\n Apply hereWanted: Bright minds and bold spirits\nIf you are excellent and passionate about quantum computing and its ability to make the world a better place for all -
