Every authentication, whether it’s a customs officer scanning a tax stamp, a partner embedding Q-ID verification into their own app, or a consumer checking a product is genuine, happens on a smartphone. These authentications happen in variable real-world conditions, on a wide range of devices.\nThe iOS Engineer will be responsible for productising research and development outputs, creating a robust and well-engineered app and SDK. They will bring skills across:\nNative iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, AVFoundation, Core ML, Vision)\nMobile SDK distribution, for partners embedding Q-ID into their own apps\nCross-platform integrations like .NET MAUI, React Native, and Flutter \nIntegration with our AWS verification APIs\nThis is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to progress in their career and translate cutting-edge scientific research into a tangible, real-world product.\nIdeal for a strong early-career or mid-level engineer who wants to grow into deep mobile product ownership.\nSmall mobile improvements (e.g., scan speed, false-reject rate, camera handling) have an outsized commercial impact and are often the difference between winning and losing a customer.\nWhat you'll be doing\nBuilding and maintaining iOS applications and SDKs in Swift\nBridging native SDKs to cross-platform frameworks\nCollaborating with science and backend teams to integrate new capabilities\nContributing to technical decisions and code reviews, and collaborating with Android colleagues\nKey experience\n2+ years’ commercial mobile software engineering experience, or equivalent strong project experience.\nGood hands-on experience building iOS apps in Swift.\nComfortable integrating mobile apps with REST APIs.\nSolid engineering fundamentals: readable code, testing, debugging, maintainability, and sensible architecture.\nInterest in camera-based apps, computer vision, on-device ML, or scientific/technical products.\nComfortable using modern AI coding tools, or keen to adopt them.\nNice to have experience\nSwiftUI, AVFoundation, Core ML, Vision.\nMobile SDK distribution.\nBridging native SDKs into React Native, Flutter, or .NET MAUI.\nCI/CD, staged rollouts, crash/performance analytics.\nComputer vision, image processing, applied ML.\nPhysics/maths/science background.\nBenefits\nWe're continually updating and improving our benefits.
