We have a shuttle service from the nearest metro station.\n\nAbout the Job\n\nAs Linux Software Engineer, you will be a key part of our System Architecture team to develop and maintain the Linux-based systems powering our unmanned aerial vehicles at Quantum-Systems. Together with our World-Class-Team, currently 3 team members, you will take an empowering role: pushing the boundaries of drone technologies.\n\nYou will be working closely with stakeholders from the Avionics, Systems Engineering, and Flight Testing departments to integrate hardware, third-party software, and onboard applications into a high-performance Linux platform.\n\nProviding a reliable, scalable, and mission-critical software environment is essential to Quantum-Systems – your mission will have a powerful impact.\n\nWhat is your Day to Day Mission:\n\nMaintaining existing as well as creating new Linux applications on the unmanned aircraft\n\nDesigning and coordinating interfaces between teams, documenting the architecture and design decisions\n\nIntegration of hardware and 3rd-party software into the Linux system, aligning with suppliers and other teams\n\nTesting of existing and new applications. This includes writing unit tests, integration tests, functional tests, and acceptance tests\n\nAnalyzing logs from flights, both from test flights as well as real-world customer issues\n\nDebugging and finding solutions for software and hardware issues related to the Linux system\n\nMaintaining and extending the build system, pipeline, and tooling. Creating releases with release notes\n\nWorking in an agile environment and following the defined development process\n\nWhat you bring to the team:\n\n3+ years of experience in Linux software development, preferably in embedded or robotics systems\n\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ (14 or newer) with proven experience developing Linux applications\n\nUnderstanding of Linux internals, including system services, device trees, and kernel modules\n\nExperience with cross-compilation, Yocto, Buildroot, or similar build systems\n\nHands-on experience with debugging tools (e.g., GDB, strace, perf) and log analysis\n\nFamiliarity with testing methodologies, including writing and executing unit, integration, and system-level tests\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and release management\n\nStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug both software and hardware integration issues\n\nProficiency in technical documentation, including interface definitions and architectural decisions\n\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines\n\nEnglish Intermediate+\n\nNice to Have:\n\nFamiliarity with middleware and interface standards such as DDS, MAVLink, CAN, or Ethernet\n\nKnowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and virtualization\n\nPrior experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment\n\nExposure to real-time Linux or safety-critical software development is a plus\n\nWhy Quantum-Systems:\n\nWe Stand with Ukraine\n\nWe believe in the power of combined efforts: straightforward tech expertise paired with a customer-centric focus.\n\nWe are industry pioneers who are ambitious, bold, and visionary.\n\nWe push limits, think outside the box, and strive for technological excellence to shape the future of aerial data.\n\nWe promise to be your runway for individual and professional growth.\nAbout us:\n\nQuantum Systems specialises in the development, design, and production of small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS).
