This is a hands-on role focused on building, securing and optimising the platform that underpins everything we do - from access control and monitoring to scalability, cost governance and deployment automation. You will establish best practices, mentor the engineering team on infrastructure and DevOps topics, and ensure our cloud environment is robust, observable and cost-efficient as we scale.\nThis role has an immediate focus on infrastructure setup, monitoring and optimisation, with longer-term ownership of our cloud strategy as the platform grows.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\nRBAC and Access Management\nDesign and implement robust Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies across our Azure environment.\nSet up and manage users, groups and service principals to ensure secure, least-privilege access to all Azure resources.\nMonitoring and Observability\nBuild dashboards to monitor performance, utilisation and health of Azure resources, providing actionable insights to the engineering team.\nImplement centralised logging and telemetry solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and related tooling.\nSet up proactive alerting to detect and resolve potential issues before they impact users.\nScalability and Performance\nArchitect and implement scalable infrastructure to handle increasing workloads as the platform grows.\nOptimise infrastructure and application performance for maximum reliability and responsiveness.\nCost Governance\nAnalyse resource utilisation, identify waste and recommend cost-saving measures.\nEnsure cost-efficient deployment, scaling and lifecycle management of Azure resources.\nDevOps and Automation\nOwn and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and deployment automation.\nEstablish infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Bicep or equivalent tooling.\nEnforce security best practices across all environments.\nTechnical Leadership\nEstablish and promote best practices for Azure infrastructure and DevOps processes across the engineering team.\nProvide guidance and mentorship to team members on cloud architecture, security and operational excellence.\nRequirements\nESSENTIAL\n5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including infrastructure setup, management and optimisation.\nProficiency in setting up and managing RBAC, users, groups and service principals within Azure.\nStrong knowledge of Azure Monitor, Application Insights and related monitoring and observability tools.\nExperience designing and building custom dashboards for resource monitoring and performance tracking.\nExpertise in logging and telemetry frameworks, and setting up proactive alerting.\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps.\nProven ability to design scalable cloud architectures and optimise for both performance and cost.\nStrong problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive, preventative solutions.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable mentoring engineers and advising leadership.\nComfortable working remotely and aligning to UK business hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM GMT/BST).\nDESIRABLE\nAzure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.\nKnowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash or Terraform.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates).\nExperience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions and serverless architectures.\nExperience in cost analysis and budget management for cloud resources at scale.\nFamiliarity with security compliance frameworks relevant to cloud infrastructure.\nLOGISTICS\nEducation: We value skills and experience over formal qualifications.\nWorking arrangements: Fully remote from India, aligned to UK business hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM GMT/BST).\nStart date: Flexible.\nBenefits\nWHAT WE OFFER\nCompetitive package depending on experience\nPotential share options\nProfessional development including conference attendance and CPD support\nThe opportunity to own cloud infrastructure strategy at one of the UK's fastest-growing healthtech companies\nRemote working with a collaborative, high-ownership engineering culture\nDirect impact on platform reliability and scalability during a critical growth phase\nHOW WE ARE DIFFERENT\nAt QuantumLoopAI, you will join a team that is building AI-powered products used by hundreds of organisations across the UK.
