The role reports into the Senior Director, Field Applications and Services. A successful candidate will have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial work ethic, strong proteomics background, and excellent communication and presentation skills. This person will work closely with sales, product management, market development, and marketing.\nAs part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:\nTechnical Expertise\nMaster protocols, applications, and troubleshooting for all QSI products\nUnderstand proteomic applications and how QSI products and applications can meet the needs of the market\nPre-sales meetings, seminars and product evaluations\nUnderstand and communicate technical details of QSI’s product line and applications.\nParticipate in and lead technical discussions in pre-sales meetings with customers.\nConduct seminars and present technical datasets to customers.\nIdentify customer needs and/or problems, and understand how to provide solutions using QSI’s instruments, reagents, kits, and applications.\nDraft experimental plans for customers during product evaluations and set expectations with the customer about evaluation outcomes.\nDraft and present demo reports to customers. \nCustomer Onboarding and Training\nManage onsite and remote onboarding of QSI products and software\nConduct onsite trainings of QSI instrument, software, and reagent product workflow.\n Technical Customer Support\nDrive instrument utilization of current install base through collaboration with sales and detailed project plans with customers.\nManage Technical Support cases via CRM (SFDC) - e-mail, phone, site visits.\nDetermine when instrument repairs are needed and initiate repair process.\nTroubleshoot instrument, software, kit, or application problems and escalate through the appropriate internal channels as required.\nMarketing support\nParticipate in tradeshows, drive customer advocacy, and provide input on application notes and other technical collateral ideas.\nPromote product positioning and messaging in all customer interactions.\nChampion customer requested applications to Market Development and/or Product Management for further consideration.\n\nQualifications\nBaseline skills/experiences/attributes:\n4-year bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, or related field.\nMasters/PhD preferred but not required if have 5+ years lab experience.\nPrior employment in similar technical support role required OR combination of lab experience with technical support component.\nMust have experience in proteomics, protein biology, or mass spectrometry.\nTheoretical or technical background in one or all the following: Cell Biology, Biochemistry, NGS.\nExcellent written/oral communication skills.\nTakes initiative\n\nLocation and Travel Expectations:\nThis position is remote and based in San Francisco, CA or San Diego, CA or surrounding areas.\nThis position will require travel not to exceed 75% (3 weeks per month).\nScheduling of site visits will be your responsibility and is subject to approval by FAS manager.\nThe estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $140,000 - $170,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
