This role partners Scrum Teams, Product Owners, leaders, and executives to improve team effectiveness, strengthen value delivery, and enable sustainable organizational change. Beyond supporting individual teams, the Senior Scrum Master provides coaching and guidance to leaders and stakeholders, helps shape enterprise Agile practices, and drives transformation initiatives that improve collaboration, transparency, and business outcomes across the organization.\nBenefits:\nResponsible for advancing Agile and Lean practices across Quartz\nCoach leaders, managers, and teams on Agile principles, organizational change, and continuous improvement\nOpportunity to influence enterprise-level transformation initiatives and organizational strategy\nFull-time in-person, hybrid, or remote work environments available\nStarting salary range based upon skills and experience: $93,000 - $116,200 plus robust benefits package\nResponsibilities\nScrum Team CoachingCoaches the team members in self-management and cross functionality.\nGuides the team focusing on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.\nCauses the removal of impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress to increase effectiveness.\nEnsure that all Scrum events take place and are positive and productive.\nLeads the team focus on Sprint Goals as a mechanism for value delivery.\nModels the Scrum values of commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage.\n\nServices the OrganizationDrives Agile transformation initiatives across multiple Scrum Teams, functions, or business units.\nProvides training, coaching, and mentoring to Scrum Masters, teams, leaders, and employees on Scrum and Lean-Agile practices.\nInfluences leaders and stakeholders on Agile practices, organizational strategy, and approaches to improving value delivery.\nIdentifies and helps address organizational barriers affecting collaboration, delivery, and Scrum Team effectiveness.\n\nProduct Owner CoachingFind techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.\nGuides the Scrum Team to understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.\nDrives to establish empirical product planning for a complex environment.\nFacilitates stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s or Associate’s degree\n5 + years of experience facilitating agile teams using Scrum\nMust have experience in establishing Scrum as defined by the Scrum Guide within at least one organization\nExperience improving Scrum Team effectiveness through retrospectives and other continuous improvement practices, beyond simply facilitating Scrum events.\nExperience must include working effectively with Product Owners, Developers, stakeholders, and leaders; addressing complex or difficult issues; removing impediments; and enabling teams to consistently deliver valuable, usable Increments that meet the Definition of Done.\nRequired Certifications/Licences:\n At Least one year of the following:Professional Scrum Master (PSM).\nProfessional Scrum with Kanban (PSK).\nCertified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC).\nProfessional Kanban I (PK I), or Kanban Management Professional (KMP).\nScrum certification.\n\nUnderstanding of Kanban principles and flow metrics\nExemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles\nOutstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills\nIntermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook\nProven knowledge of the application of agile at scale and proven ability to coach and lead the cultural and organizational change to make it work\nKnowledge and practical experience of agile and Lean frameworks, values, and practices including, but not limited to systems thinking, theory of constraints, flow metrics, pull systems, value delivery, psychological safety, etc.\nDemonstrated fluency in agile and lean values and principles\nDemonstrated ability to influence people at all levels of the organization\nDemonstrates openness and curiosity as a way of enabling change, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach\nHardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.\nQuartz offers an excellent benefit and compensation package, opportunity for career advancement and a professional culture built upon the foundations of Respect, Responsibility, Relationships, and Resourcefulness.
