The Lead Systems Administrator will provide expertise in design, administration, maintenance, and support of the infrastructure systems and processes Quartz trusts to provide world class insurance solutions to its members. This position will design and build solutions, architect, and implement new software and hardware, provide training and mentoring, troubleshoot and remediate anomalies, and assist in the development of overall IT strategy. This role will also mentor team members and collaborate closely to organize work and develop team skills. Works with stakeholders to gain deeper understanding of requirements that are unclear.\nProvides leadership and guidance to create and execute architecture and engineering plans for moderate to complex technology projects and solutions.\nActively participates in assigned projects to ensure analysis, design, testing, and implementation tasks meet project goals and design standards.\nProvides technical leadership, mentorship, and feedback to System Administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.\nEvaluates new technologies and tools, conducting proof-of-concept experiments to validate feasibility and potential business impact.\nPerforms server and system administration tasks, including group policies, print services and queue management, event log monitoring, security permissions, drive and volume management, OS provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.\nDesigns, builds, tests, and deploys new systems, services, and processes to meet ongoing business needs.\nPerforms routine maintenance including updates, patching, backups, snapshots, configuration management, and disaster recovery.\nLeads development of internal and cloud infrastructure standards. Guides technology decisions by partnering across functions to ensure best practices are developed and followed.\nDevelops and maintains scripts to automate routine tasks.\nAdministers and maintains applications required to support network, servers, and technical operations and service.\nSupport audit and compliance activities as needed.\nParticipate in on-call rotation.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in systems administration roleOR associate degree with 9+ years of experience in a systems administration role\nOR high school equivalency with 12+ years of experience in a systems administration role\n\nExperience with the following:Basic Linux administration\nWindows administration\nProvisioning and managing SAN/vSAN/HCI infrastructure\nMS Intune\nManaging certificate infrastructure\nManaging backups\nMFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) solutions \nMS Office 365\nSupporting services in an ITSM framework\nQuoting solutions with vendors and partners\n\nProficiency writing, supporting, and updating & writing scripts in SCCM (PowerShell)\nProficiency in VMware vSphere, SRM administration\nKnowledge of cloud infrastructure elements and functions (Azure)\nKnowledge of network, web and application related protocols and infrastructure (VPNs, vlans, TCP/IP, IPsec, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, routing, switching, firewalls)\nKnowledge of ITIL framework\nAbility to effectively communicate and work with multiple vendors, managed service providers\nAbility to work outside of business hours as needed\nMust be inquisitive and seek out answers without being asked\nAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work independently, under pressure, and be adaptable to change\nExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills\nAbility to work outside of business hours as needed in on-call rotation\nHardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.\nWe offer an excellent benefit and compensation package, opportunity for career advancement and a professional culture built on the foundations of Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness and Relationships.
