Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective availability of fleet, plant and equipment assets while supporting operational performance and business objectives.\nKey Relationships\nReports to: Regional Manager\nKey Responsibilities\nLeadership & Management\nProvide visible leadership to workshop and maintenance teams across the region, fostering a strong safety culture and high performance.\nLead, coach and develop direct reports and succession pipelines.\nDrive consistency of maintenance practices, standards and systems across all sites.\nMaintenance & Asset Management\nDevelop and implement maintenance strategies and lifecycle plans for major assets and fleets.\nOversee maintenance planning, scheduling, execution quality and backlog control through the CMMS.\nCoordinate major overhauls, shutdowns and specialist maintenance activities.\nMonitor asset reliability, availability and cost performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.\nSupport capital planning, replacement strategies and business cases, including lifecycle cost analysis and asset specifications.\nOperational Support\nPartner with operational teams to align maintenance delivery with production and customer requirements.\nEnsure parts, materials and contractor services are planned and available to support maintenance execution.\nReview and optimise maintenance processes to improve productivity and cost effectiveness.\nFinancial & Commercial\nDevelop and manage regional maintenance budgets and forecasts.\nMonitor maintenance costs, overtime, contractor expenditure and inventory performance.\nManage supplier relationships, pricing agreements and contractor performance.\nSafety, Health & Environment\nChampion Zero Harm and ensure compliance with all WHS, Chain of Responsibility and environmental requirements.\nEnsure hazards, incidents and near misses are reported, investigated and controlled.\nVerify fitness for work, competency, training and PPE compliance across the region.\nLead safety audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.\nGovernance & Reporting\nEnsure maintenance documentation, records and compliance evidence are complete and auditable.\nProvide regular reporting on safety, reliability, compliance, cost and performance metrics.\nContribute to regional and corporate asset management and maintenance strategies.\nQualifications & Experience\nRelevant trade qualification (HV Diesel, Mechanical or Electrical).\nCertificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent (desirable).\nMinimum 5 years' experience in senior maintenance or workshop leadership roles.\nStrong background in road transport, heavy equipment, plant or bulk handling environments.\nDemonstrated experience managing multi-site maintenance teams and contractors.\nStrong understanding of WHS legislation, Chain of Responsibility and maintenance compliance requirements.\nHigh level proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.\nKey Competencies\nSafety leadership and risk management\nStrategic thinking and asset lifecycle management\nStrong people leadership and communication skills\nCommercial acumen and cost control\nPlanning, organisation and prioritisation\nContinuous improvement mindset\nStakeholder and supplier relationship management\nSafety, Health & Environment Expectations\nThe Maintenance Manager is accountable for leading by example and ensuring all work is performed safely, ethically and in compliance with company SHEMS, policies and legal obligations.
