Qubitcore is advancing the development of ion-trap quantum computers across multiple technology areas, including quantum processors, photonic interconnects, and control systems.\nIn this role, you will be responsible for driving projects toward their objectives, leading cross-functional teams of researchers and engineers, and playing a hands-on role in project planning, progress and resource management, documentation, internal and external coordination, and problem-solving.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and drive project plans aligned with R&D strategy and priorities\nManage project objectives, milestones, and resources, including budgets and personnel\nMonitor and visualize progress, identify issues and risks, and drive appropriate actions across multiple projects\nReport key issues and risks to R&D leaders and management, and propose solutions and response plans\nCoordinate and build alignment among researchers, engineers, management, and other internal and external stakeholders\nDrive projects involving research institutions, external partners, suppliers, and other organizations\nPrepare R&D project plans, reports, management materials, and other related documentation\nInitially work closely with the R&D team to build a strong understanding of quantum computing and Qubitcore’s technologies and development activities. Over time, take responsibility for driving multiple R&D projects across teams.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nAbility and willingness to relocate to Okinawa, Japan\nBusiness-level or higher proficiency in both Japanese and English\nExperience leading projects across multiple technical domains and teams\nLeadership skills to engage and lead researchers, engineers, and other team members\nAbility to independently learn and quickly understand technical domains outside your area of expertise\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build alignment among diverse stakeholders\nPreferred Qualifications\nResearch or development experience in AMO (Atomic, Molecular, and Optical) physics\nExperience leading international projects or development projects involving global teams\nExperience in quantum physics, quantum optics, quantum computing, lasers, or MEMS\nExperience leading R&D projects funded by NEDO, JST, Moonshot, or similar programs\nPhD in physics, electrical engineering, optical engineering, or a related field, including AMO physics\nAbout the Company & Opportunity\nThis is a unique opportunity to play a central role in a deep-tech startup working to bring quantum computing into society.
