This role is responsible for managing the safe, successful, and efficient delivery of works, including both mid-week activities and weekend rail closures, while contributing to the growth and capability of our engineering team.\nAs a key member of a high-performing team, you will provide technical leadership, mentor developing engineers, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver project outcomes that support Queensland Rail's strategic objectives\nYou’ll also:\nDeliver and manage business development submissions, seeking project funding and creation of projects based on business requirements. This includes creation of documentation including business cases, project management plans, risk registers, cost estimates and WHS plans.\n\nManage ongoing project scope, schedule, budget, risk and quality to achieve successful outcomes.\n\nDetermine resourcing requirements and devise contractual and procurement strategies.\n\nApply appropriate project governance processes and structures, ensuring compliance and effective oversight in line with Queensland Rail’s requirements.\n\nFacilitate and implement risk-management and value-engineering activities, consulting regularly with stakeholders both internally and community groups, unions, government agencies, and project governance bodies.\n\nProvide technical guidance and leadership to project teams.\n\nUndertake project reporting to key stakeholders on progress, safety and cost.\n\nAdminister and manage contracts, with support from contracts procurement and legal representatives.\n\nFor more information, please read through the position description.\nThis role will be ideal for people who:\nA Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification.\n\nA current Queensland Driver Licence.\n\n10+ years' experience within the rail industry, with a strong focus on track projects, track renewals and maintenance activities.\n\nStrong project management capability, including the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.\n\nHave proven experience in contract management and consultation on complex issues to arrive at solutions.\n\nExhibit expertise in progress reporting, risk management, project scheduling and procurement activities.\n\nPossess exceptional stakeholder management skills, allowing you to swiftly cultivate positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.\n\nPossess outstanding communication, negotiation, consulting and writing abilities which will be indispensable for excelling in this role.\n\nBenefits that Count\nAll that Queensland Rail achieves each day relies on the hard work and talent of our teams.
