For this role we also offer:\nSalary starts at $143,802 plus a generous superannuation contribution\nCollaborative and engaged work place and team environment\nGenuine work life balance\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) providing employees with holistic and contemporary health and wellbeing programs.\nProfessional development and leadership opportunities\nAbout the Role\nQueensland Rail is seeking a Senior Signal Engineer to join our ETCS Major Projects team based in Brisbane CBD on a fixed-term contract until September 2030, with a strong possibility of extension.\nIn this key role, you will provide advanced signalling engineering services to support the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects across Queensland. Drawing on your expertise in signalling design, engineering standards and assurance processes, you will develop high-quality, commercially focused engineering solutions and contribute to the successful implementation of ETCS Level 2 technology. You will also support project teams in delivering safe, reliable and innovative outcomes that enhance Queensland Rail's network.\nPurpose That Counts - Some of the responsibilities of the role:\nProvide advanced signalling engineering design, technical assurance and engineering services to support the successful delivery of major rail infrastructure projects and commercially focused outcomes.\nAct as a key signalling engineering specialist within multidisciplinary project teams, developing high-quality engineering solutions, technical documentation and cost estimates.\nBuild and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, applying effective communication, influencing and problem-solving skills to achieve project objectives and maximise value for Queensland Rail.\nDrive innovation, continuous improvement and engineering excellence while ensuring compliance with professional engineering standards, quality management systems and relevant safety, operational and environmental requirements.\n\nPeople Who Count - What you can bring to the role:\nDemonstrated expertise in signalling trackside and principles design, including independent checking and approval of signalling designs and associated PBI data.\nExperience delivering signalling engineering solutions within complex rail environments, with ETCS Level 2 design experience highly regarded.\nCurrent Queensland Rail Signal Design Engineer Level 2 accreditation is essential. Queensland Rail ETCS Design Engineer Level 2 accreditation and signalling testing knowledge will be highly regarded.\nStrong stakeholder engagement, project delivery and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement, innovation and commercially focused engineering outcomes.
