You will work across our product applications and public-facing sites, set technical direction for how we build on the front end, and raise the quality bar for the engineers around you. You will also own our shared component library, which is in production today and used across multiple applications, and lead its adoption org-wide.\nThe salary range for this role is $150,000 to $190,000 commensurate with experience and skills.\nWhat You Will Do\nFront-End Development & UI/UX\nLead the development of complex, user-facing features and applications using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, with a focus on responsive, accessible, and high-performing web and mobile experiences.\n\nDefine and implement scalable front-end architectures, development patterns, and engineering standards across applications and projects.\n\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, promoting best practices in front-end development, code quality, and engineering processes.\n\nContribute to UTA's public-facing web properties, including marketing and talent-facing sites.\n\nShared Components & Design System\nOwn and evolve UTA's shared React component library, used across multiple applications.\n\nMaintain and extend the design token system, partnering with design on Figma-to-code parity.\n\nOwn versioning, changelogs, and a predictable upgrade path for the teams consuming shared code.\n\nDrive adoption across teams through migration paths, documentation, a contribution model, and a clear deprecation policy.\n\nHelp shape how AI coding tools consume our components, so generated code follows our patterns by default.\n\nPerformance, Integration & Scalability\nLead efforts to optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring the best possible user experience.\n\nWork with back-end developers to integrate APIs and web services, utilizing RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and other relevant technologies.\n\nStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development, with a focus on mobile experience, accessibility, and cloud technologies.\n\nTesting & Quality Assurance\nPerform continuous testing, utilizing tools such as Storybook and Playwright, to ensure high-quality code and efficient testing practices.\n\nMaintain visual regression and automated accessibility testing in CI.\n\nTreat accessibility as a deliverable, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA including ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, and focus management.\n\nWhat You Will Need\nA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n8+ years of front-end engineering experience, with deep production React experience and a strong understanding of front-end development best practices.\n\nStrong TypeScript, including typing flexible, composable component APIs.\n\nExperience building and maintaining a component library or shared UI code used by teams beyond your own.\n\nDeep CSS expertise, including cascade layers, custom properties, container queries, and managing specificity in shared code.\n\nAccessibility experience in complex interactive components, not only static pages.\n\nResponsive web experience across breakpoints and devices.\n\nExperience influencing engineering practice across teams, not only within your own.\n\nStrong experience with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with APIs, ensuring smooth communication between the front-end and back-end.\n\nFamiliarity with version control systems such as Git and modern CI/CD workflows.\n\nExcellent written communication.
