This person will work collaboratively to support the development and production release of components and assemblies used to build QuEra’s neutral atom quantum computers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced product development environments, enjoys building scalable manufacturing processes and systems, and has strong experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and contract manufacturing partners.\nThe Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in developing manufacturing documentation, product structures, assembly and test procedures, and ensuring smooth technology transfer into production. This person will also own and maintain the manufacturing release process and associated documentation systems used to communicate with suppliers and contract manufacturers.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain product structures, including multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies\nCreate, document, and release manufacturing assembly procedures, work instructions, and test procedures\nCreate and maintain documentation packages used by manufacturing partners, and ensure that suppliers have the current released documentation packages\nSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype through production ramp\nContribute to design for manufacturing/assembly (DFM/DFA) reviews\nLead or support technology transfer activities to contract manufacturing (CM) partners\nCollaborate closely with design engineering, supply chain and manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturability and smooth product release\nManage engineering change orders (ECOs) and documentation release processes\nCoordinate builds at external manufacturing sites\nEnsure manufacturing documentation complies with quality system requirements and configuration management practices\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electical Engineering or related technical field\n5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical products, preferably at an OEM that deployed either full turn-key, or outsourcing with in-house final assembly and test approach to production\nFamiliarity with PLM, ERP, and document management systems\nStrong experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and transitioning products from development into production\nExperience transferring products and manufacturing processes to contract manufacturing partners\nProven experience creating and maintaining structured Bills of Materials (BOMs)\nExperience writing detailed assembly procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing test procedures\nStrong understanding of configuration management and document control processes\nKnowledge of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing process validation\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around documentation accuracy and revision control\nComfortable working cross-functionally in a dynamic engineering environment\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with optical alignment, opto-mechanical assemblies, or precision instrumentation\nExperience supporting low-volume/high-complexity manufacturing environments\nExperience with CM management in domestic and/or international manufacturing environments\nThe compensation offered for this role is $150,000 - $180,000\nQuEra is committed to cultivating a diverse work environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
