We're looking for a Lead Software Verification Engineer with experience in Verification & Validation (V&V), DO-178C, embedded software, RTOS, and systems integration to help deliver reliable, high-quality software for mission-critical applications.\nIn this role, you'll lead software verification activities, support hardware/software integration, and work closely with systems, software, and test engineering teams to ensure software meets customer, regulatory, and certification requirements.\nLocation: This position is located in Endicott, NY and requires full-time onsite support during the initial onboarding period (approximately 1-2 months), with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule afterward.\nCitizenship Requirement: Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead software Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for embedded aerospace software.\nPerform requirements-based testing, software integration testing, and hardware/software integration testing.\nVerify high-level and low-level software requirements (HLR/LLR) in accordance with DO-178C.\nReview software requirements, designs, test procedures, and verification results for completeness and compliance.\nSupport software certification activities and ensure compliance with aerospace software standards.\nCollaborate with systems, software, hardware, and integration teams throughout the development lifecycle.\nDocument test results, identify issues, and communicate technical findings to engineering teams and customers.\nSupport onboarding, process improvements, and technical guidance for future verification engineers.\nParticipate in technical reviews and help improve software quality, verification processes, and engineering best practices.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline.\n6+ years of experience developing or verifying embedded software in aerospace, defense, or another safety-critical industry.\nExperience with DO-178C software development or verification.\nExperience with Verification & Validation (V&V), software integration testing, and hardware/software integration.\nExperience developing or testing software running on a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).\nExperience programming in C and Python.\nExperience with multicore or asymmetric multiprocessing architectures.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills.\nU.S. Citizenship required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with one or more of the following:\nARM processors\nARM Development Studio\nARM DSTREAM\nSystem-on-Chip (SoC)\nDevice Drivers\nBoard Support Packages (BSP)\nBare-Metal Software\nDO-330 Tool Qualification\nRequirements-Based Testing\nStructural Coverage Analysis (SCA)\nBoundary Value Analysis (BVA)\nData & Control Coupling Analysis (DCCA)\nWorst-Case Execution Time (WCET)\nCAST-32A\nMulticore Processing\nDeterministic Real-Time Systems\nARINC 429\nARINC 615A\nMIL-STD-1553\nPCIe\nLIN\nCAN\nEmbedded Security\nSensors and Actuators\nAerospace\nAvionics\nEngine Controls\nTechnical leadership or team leadership experience\nMaster's degree in a related STEM field is preferred.\nThe QDSS Advantage: \nAt QDSS, our advantage is purpose-driven work, collaborative teams, and complex challenges that push boundaries and build lasting impact.
