Responsibilities include building applications, libraries, and instrument drivers following organizational languages and development environments. Work involves collaboration within multidiscipline teams and participation across all stages of product development. Principal-level engineers will also provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members. \nLocation: Onsite Tucson, AZ. Relocation assistance is available\nCitizenship: Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required. \nClearance: Active DoD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain\nIn this Role, you will:\nDesign, develop, and integrate object-oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio within a Windows OS environment. \nTroubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation. \nWork effectively in multidiscipline engineering teams. \nPrioritize and execute multiple tasks concurrently. \nDerive and develop software requirements. \n(Principal level) Lead technical efforts and mentor junior engineers. \nQualifications You Must Have: \nA bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2-10+ years of relevant engineering experience (higher experience levels also acceptable; equivalent master’s degree combinations recognized). \nExperience with C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic. \nExperience using IDEs and debugging tools. \nExperience with lab instrumentation, hardware interfaces, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422). \nExperience with UML, configuration management, Azure DevOps/GitHub. \nProficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Visual Studio. \nMust maintain a U.S. Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required. \nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to start; U.S. citizenship required. \nPreferred Qualifications: \nUnderstanding computer architecture and optimization techniques. \nExperience developing software drivers for hardware interfaces. \nKnowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422. \nFamiliarity with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies). \nExperience with UML, Agile/Waterfall lifecycle models, Azure DevOps or GitHub. \nStrong written and interpersonal communication skills. \n\nThe QDSS Advantage: \nAt QDSS, our advantage is purpose-driven work, collaborative teams, and complex challenges that push boundaries and build lasting impact.
