Could It Be You?\nThe Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will provide a high level of expertise in the areas of Automated and Manual QA activities for applications developed by Questrade Technology Group (QTG), with particular focus on API Testing, backend web applications, microservices and high volume data flow/transactions. Keep reading…\nIn this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: \nUnderstand application workflow and write test strategies, test plans, and test cases throughout the development lifecycle\nEnsure test plans thoroughly cover all requirements and use cases\nPlan, schedule and perform manual and automated software tests\nImprove current test suites in order to achieve better coverage and quality\nDevelop automated regression test suites using automated testing tools\nFoster a continuous improvement approach to QA activities\nWork closely with development to perform early testing on components prior to integration builds\nSetup and configure test environments and import test data\nManage defect tracking and proactively identify risks to management monitor and report results\nPerform root cause analysis of defects, conduct lessons learned meetings and propose improvements in processes and methodologies\nAssists and actively participates in the communication between local and offshore development and QA teams, ensuring knowledge is shared efficiently\nParticipate in sprint planning activities and provide estimates for manual and automated testing work\nProficient in working with Linux environments, including basic shell scripting to manage and maintain test environments \nExperience using Python and TypeScript to build, maintain and enhance automated test suites\nFamiliarity with performance testing tools and methodologies, with the ability to design, implement and analyze performance tests to ensure system reliability and scalability\nSo are YOU our next Senior QA Engineer? You are if you…\n5+ years’ experience at QA Engineering role \nExposure to non-functional testing (e.g. Performance and Security)\nStrong knowledge of Python or JavaScript, asynchronous programming\nBack-end testing including APIs (RESTful API), basic SQL skills, mocking APIs;\nGit or GitHub, Postman, Jira (or other similar tools)\nKnowledge of software development life cycle, methodologies and testing\nExperience with cloud technologies and modern pipelines \nSolid knowledge of quality assurance techniques, testing concepts, methodologies and tools\nAbility to apply concepts of unit, system, regression, product, integration and acceptance testing\nExcellent analytical skills with the ability to investigate and research multiple sources\nKnowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases\nKnowledge of trading systems and trading concepts, particularly within the equities realm, is considered an asset\nAI-Assisted Development: Eagerness to integrate AI tools (e.g., Claude) into daily engineering workflows — code generation, review, debugging, and documentation — to accelerate delivery and improve quality.\nCompensation Information:\nBase salary range: $100,000 - $130,000\nThe final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada).
