You will work within the SRE team and across our engineering organization to help us holistically deliver software that is secure, compliant, reliable, high quality, scalable and considerate of technical debt. We operate our core platform in fully cloud native environments.\n\nSome of our upcoming projects:\n\nEvolving the platform infrastructure and services to be fully cloud native (elastic).\n\nPreparing the platform to support multiple instances in support of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) requirements.\n\nSupporting multiple initiatives to continuously improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of the platform.\n\nWhat We’re Looking for in Your Profile\n\nYou have approximately 1-2 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, or in an equivalent operations or technical support role. You can handle most standard SRE requests, taking on some stories with assistance from senior teammates, and you’re developing your professional expertise and breadth by applying team policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues across security, public cloud services, networking, compute, storage, web services, databases, monitoring, incident response, quality, scale, and performance.\n\nYou thrive on being part of a capable, caring, and hard-working team, helping others and being helped, continuously improving, and executing positive change. You enjoy sharing what you’ve learned with newer team members.\n\nYou are willing to be part of an on-call rotation and help with planned work on some nights or weekends.\n\nYou work well with general direction on routine work and detailed guidance on new or unfamiliar work, and you value being coached by senior members of the team.\n\nYou are proficient in English, both verbal and written.\n\nAbility to work remotely 8AM to 5PM local time for optimal team coverage.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nIndependently handle operational support requests and escalations, including issues of moderate scope that require reviewing a variety of factors, from SRE’s internal customers, i.e., Customer Support and Product Development teams — exercising judgment within established procedures and practices to determine the appropriate action — while also working to eliminate the need for those requests and escalations through better documentation, automation, improved product functionality, or empowering those teams to self-service.\n\nMonitor and maintain production and non-production systems with increasing independence, working to improve instrumentation, early issue detection, and issue avoidance in pursuit of meeting service level objectives.\n\nConsistently and reliably execute coordinated software deployments to the platform while working to improve the velocity of delivering value to our customers through deployment automation and release process refinement.\n\nTake ownership of incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless postmortem activities for moderately complex issues.\n\nParticipate in 7×24 on call rotation per contractual arrangement.\n\nOffer informal, peer-level help and knowledge-sharing to Site Reliability Engineer 1s and new team members as opportunities arise, while continuing to receive structured coaching and mentorship from senior members of the SRE team.\n\nSpecific Technology Experience\n\nYou have approximately 1-2 years of experience in IT administration, technology, or a software support role, ideally as a Site Reliability Engineer 1 or in an equivalent role.\n\nYou have administrative or power-user experience with Microsoft Windows, MacOS, or Linux.\n\nYou have working proficiency with, and can independently write and maintain automation scripts in, at least one of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, Bash, or JavaScript.\n\nExperience with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure is expected.\n\nCertifications (Recommended)\n\nAWS Cloud Practitioner Foundational, AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals, or GCP Associate Cloud Engineer.\n\nSplunk Power User.\n\nBehavioral and Interpersonal\n\nCollaborative, team player with high standards and ethics.\n\nCan-do, how about now, how can I help attitude.\n\nIntellectually curious with a demonstrated drive to learn and grow skills.\n\nSystematic analysis and problem-solving ability.\n\nAbility to maintain composure and urgency in stressful situations.\n\nAbility to communicate issues and status clearly and consistently, both verbally and in writing.\n\nNatural ability to be transparent and open to feedback.\n\nCapacity to work in a high growth, fast-paced environment.\n\nEnjoys informally helping onboard newer teammates.\n\nImportant Notices\n\nRecorded Interviews.
