Together, we’re creating a lasting impact where it is needed most and advancing the power of diagnostics for a healthier future for all.\nThe Role\nAs we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Formulation Technician II to perform operations as described by our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in our Film manufacturing Department located in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will prepare solutions following preparation instructions using raw materials, chemical additions, testing, and finishing of solutions to coat diagnostic film. Work with, operate and troubleshoot equipment issues while strictly following all regulations and requirements including cGMP's, OSHA, FDA, and ISO regulations.\nThis opportunity is located in Rochester, NY.\nWork Schedule: B/C Shift - Mon-Fri, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM/Sun-Thu, 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM\nAfter training concludes, ability to work a varying schedule of shifts (combination A-B-C) is required.\nThe Responsibilities\nEffectively communicates verbally and in writing.\n\nDemonstrates a sense of urgency to complete production schedule on time.\n\nAccepts personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.\n\nAccurately and timely completes all required reporting functions using an SAP/ERP computer system.\n\nUses computer-based documentation system to find, view and print specifications and procedures.\n\nPrepare solutions used in Film/Coating manufacturing, while following safety procedures and practices and maintaining a clean orderly work environment.\n\nFollow a recipe driven process with precise accuracy, operates machinery and interacts with computer-controlled equipment and processes.\n\nDisposes of scrap/rejected material in appropriate manner and according to safety regulations.\n\nAbility to work in a team environment.\n\nAbility to work a varying schedule of A and B shifts and C shifts.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nThe Individual\nA High School Diploma or GED is required. Vocational education would be preferred\n\nKnowledgeable in the areas of chemical and solution preparation, recipe driven processes, solvent/aqueous coating, film coating technology, and mechanical assembly. 2-3 years of experience is preferred in one or all disciplines.\n\nMust have basic computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).\n\nThe ability to read and write in English is required.\n\nKnowledge and experience with GMP/ISO regulations is preferred.\n\nStrong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting of process and equipment is required.\n\nPreferred:\nExperience with quality information systems (i.e. SAP).\n\nKnowledge and experience with GMP/ISO regulations.\n\nKey Working Relationships\nInternal Partners: Maintenance, Engineering, Quality\nExternal Partners: Suppliers\nWork Environment\nThe work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environment and include handling of viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples. Up to 75% of the time you will be, standing, walking or sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Manual dexterity for manipulating parts and repetitive motions are required. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.\nSalary Transparency\nThe salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $23 to $25 hourly and is bonus eligible.
