In this role, you will support mission-unique software development for U.S. government programs, working across backend and frontend systems while also contributing to Quindar’s core product.\nYou do not need to be a satellite expert to succeed here. We are looking for a strong software engineer who is excited to build reliable, scalable systems in a mission-driven environment.\nThis is a hybrid role based in Arvada, CO.\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild and maintain backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications for satellite operations workflows.\n\nDevelop mission-specific software for U.S. government customers while contributing to Quindar’s core product platform.\n\nDesign, integrate, and troubleshoot services using AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, RDS, Fargate, EKS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS.\n\nWork across backend and frontend systems, including integration with React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern application frameworks.\n\nImprove the scalability, security, cost efficiency, reliability, and performance of software used in satellite operations.\n\nBuild and support containerized and serverless architectures using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nCollaborate with satellite operators, customers, product managers, frontend engineers, backend engineers, and other cross-functional partners to understand requirements and deliver new capabilities.\n\nTroubleshoot production issues, analyze system behavior, and improve maintainability, resilience, and observability over time.\n\nAutomate development, deployment, and operational workflows to help teams move quickly and reliably.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nActive Secret clearance. TS/SCI preferred\n\n4+ years of professional experience in backend development, full-stack engineering, DevOps, or a related software engineering role.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nStrong proficiency with Python and experience building production backend services.\n\nExperience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs, distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases, caching systems, event-driven systems, and multi-tier architectures.\n\nExperience with AWS services and cloud-native development patterns.\n\nHands-on experience with Docker, containerized applications, and Kubernetes systems.\n\nExperience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or similar.\n\nFamiliarity with JavaScript or TypeScript, with experience either developing full-stack or frontend software or closely integrating with frontend engineers.\n\nExperience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar tools.\n\nStrong technical analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.\n\nAbility to work independently, manage projects with minimal guidance, and deliver high-quality work on time.\n\nHigh standards for software maintainability, quality, resilience, security, and performance.\n\nStrong communication skills across engineering, product, customer, and operations stakeholders.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building React components in TypeScript.\n\nExperience with frameworks such as Next.js, Refine, or Vite.\n\nExperience with Kubernetes and AWS services such as EKS, ECS, CloudWatch, S3, EFS/EBS, EC2, and RDS.\n\nExperience building CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitHub Actions.\n\nExperience working on satellite operations, aerospace, defense, or government software systems.\n\nDemonstrated self-starting technical ownership, including building or deeply improving a product outside of a traditional professional role.\n\nWhy You’ll Love Working at Quindar\nWe work in a cutting edge industry and you will get the opportunity to be part of a small team with a large direct impact on the success of our customers’ space missions!\n\nWe take work life balance very seriously.
