Quindar is a space technology company that provides software platforms for operating and managing satellite constellations. Its products help satellite operators plan missions, automate operations, and monitor spacecraft using cloud based tools integrated with ground segment infrastructure.

Vice President of Finance

About the Role

Quindar is looking for a Vice President of Finance to build and lead the financial team as the company enters its next stage of growth. This person will own financial planning, reporting, budgeting, audit readiness, and capital planning while giving the leadership team a clear view of company performance and the financial implications of key decisions.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The VP of Finance should be equally comfortable building a financial model, reviewing departmental spend with a functional leader, preparing materials for the Board, managing an external audit, and supporting financing discussions.

What You’ll Do

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own Quindar’s company wide financial model, annual operating plan, forecasts, and long-range financial planning.

  • Maintain accurate forecasts for revenue, expenses, cash, headcount, bookings, ARR, backlog, and other key operating metrics.

  • Build scenario models that help leadership evaluate hiring, investments, facilities, contracts, and strategic initiatives.

  • Provide clear visibility into cash runway, burn, capital requirements, and the financial impact of major company decisions.

  • Review pricing models and active margin profiles.

  • Continuously improve forecasting accuracy as the company scales.

Company Metrics, Board & Investor Reporting

  • Own the financial and operating metrics used by the executive team, investors, and Board.

  • Maintain a consistent source of truth for KPIs across bookings, ARR, revenue, gross margin, burn, headcount, pipeline, retention, and other company metrics.

  • Prepare financial analysis and supporting materials for Board meetings, investor updates, fundraising, and strategic planning.

  • Translate financial performance into clear insights: what changed, why it changed, and what leadership should do about it.

Budgeting & Business Partnership

  • Own departmental budgets and work directly with functional leaders to establish financial plans aligned with company priorities.

  • Provide leaders with regular budget vs. actuals reporting, forecasts, and recommendations.

  • Hold teams accountable to financial commitments while helping them understand the tradeoffs behind resource allocation.

  • Build processes that allow managers to make faster, better informed spending and hiring decisions.

Accounting, Audit & Financial Controls

  • Oversee the relationship with outsourced accounting, tax, and other financial service providers.

  • Lead Quindar’s annual financial statement audit and manage the external audit firm from planning through completion.

  • Ensure the company maintains audit ready financial records, appropriate controls, reconciliations, documentation, and accounting policies.

  • Own the financial close process and continuously improve the timeliness and accuracy of monthly and quarterly reporting.

  • Partner with Legal, Contracts, and Operations on revenue recognition, government contracts, cost allocation, compliance, and other financial requirements.

Government Contract Finance

  • Serve as the finance owner for Quindar’s government contracts, covering milestone-based billing and collections, cost allocation across programs, and the financial requirements that come with federal contracting.

  • Build and maintain the systems and controls needed for government contract compliance (e.g., DCAA/FAR-oriented requirements, cost accounting, and any incurred-cost or program reporting obligations), and partner with Legal, Contracts, and Operations on new and existing awards.

Capital Strategy & Financing

  • Support future equity fundraising, including financial diligence, investor materials, data rooms, modeling, and management presentations.

  • Support debt-backed financing and other capital strategies, including lender diligence, covenant modeling, liquidity planning, and ongoing reporting requirements.

  • Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, insurance providers, and other financial partners.

  • Help leadership evaluate the appropriate mix of equity, debt, and internally generated cash as Quindar scales.

Scaling the Finance Function

  • Build the processes, systems, reporting infrastructure, and financial controls required for a rapidly growing company.

  • Hire and develop a high-performing finance team as company complexity increases.

  • Prepare Quindar for the financial rigor expected of a later-stage venture-backed company, government contractor, and ultimately a much larger enterprise.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility in a high growth company.

  • Experience owning FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and company wide financial models.

  • Demonstrated experience leading annual financial audits and working directly with external audit firms.

  • Experience supporting institutional fundraising, Board reporting, and investor diligence.

  • Experience with debt financing, credit facilities, venture debt, or other lender backed financing.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and the relationship between accounting, FP&A, and operational decision making.

  • Ability to build financial infrastructure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • Strong analytical judgment and the ability to turn complex financial information into clear recommendations.

  • Comfortable operating at both the strategic and detailed levels from Board conversations to reviewing individual budget variances.

  • Experience in defense contracting or another complex B2B environment is strongly preferred.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
