We are now looking for an Integrated Photonics Team Leader to drive the development of our photonic hardware platform and lead a multidisciplinary team at the heart of our technology.\nThis is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who is excited to shape a world-class photonics platform from concept to production.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAs Integrated Photonics Team Leader, you will own and drive Quix Quantum’s photonic hardware stack and platform strategy. You will:\nLead, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary integrated photonics team (design, layout, and research), ensuring technical excellence and high-quality documentation.\n\nOwn the end-to-end photonic hardware stack, including photonic circuits, electronics/ASIC interfaces, detectors, packaging, and characterisation.\n\nDrive platform and PDK development, focusing on fabrication-robust design, tolerance analysis, and optimisation.\n\nManage relationships with photonic foundries, including wafer-run planning, process splits, PCM/DCM definition, and mask sign-off.\n\nSupport assembly, packaging, and hybrid photonic-electronic integration.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with systems, electronics, software, characterisation, quantum science teams, and external partners.\n\nWhat You Bring\nEducation\nPhD in Integrated Photonics, Microelectronics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.\n\nStrong academic background in integrated photonics.\n\nExperience\n5+ years of hands-on experience in integrated photonics design and development.\n\nProven experience leading and mentoring technical teams.\n\nDemonstrated success taking PIC designs through full fabrication cycles with industrial foundries, including Si, SiN, and EO modulator platforms.\n\nExperience with PDK or photonic platform development, including robustness and fabrication tolerance analysis.\n\nStrong understanding of optical, electrical, and thermal co-design and integration.\n\nHands-on experience with assembly, packaging, and chip-level integration.\n\nWhy Join Quix Quantum?\nAt Quix Quantum, you’ll work at the cutting edge of quantum photonics, alongside a highly skilled and ambitious team.
