This flexible, hybrid position requires a minimum of one day in the office each week and offers work locations in Germany or the Netherlands.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and simulate photonic components using tools like Lumerical.\nDevelop PIC layouts in IPKISS, GdsFactory, or similar.\nSupport internal PDK development and maintenance.\nAutomate and script simulations with Python or similar languages.\nCollaborate with team members using Git for code management.\nIntegrate photonic designs into system architectures.\nRequired Qualifications:\nMSc in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or related; PhD preferred.\n3+ years of photonics design experience, preferably in industry.\n\nExperince in Lumerical and PIC layout tools (eg. IPKISS, GdsFactory).\nStrong Python skills and experience with Git.\nProficiency in English.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Lumerical API, PDK development, Silicon Nitride platforms, and quantum integrated photonics.\nPersonal Attributes:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent communicator and team player.\nDetail-oriented with a commitment to high quality.\nSelf-motivated, capable of managing multiple projects independently.\nWhat to expect from us:\nJoin a fast-paced, innovative start-up where your work directly impacts our growth and direction.
