This team is responsible for the continuous evolution of the Quora user experience. Our engineers work at the intersection of software development, design, and data science to build intuitive features that foster knowledge sharing and community engagement.\nAs a Software Engineer on the Quora Core Product team, you will:\nHave a significant impact on a wide array of features that are essential to the Quora community, working on projects that improve user engagement, drive user growth, generate informative and engaging content using AI, ensure high-quality content through effective moderation, and enhance the overall creator experience\n\nLeverage data and experimentation to create solutions that will reach millions of users\n\nEngage with a fast-paced development environment, delivering engaging features that meet our high standards of quality and performance\n\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop full stack applications with Python and React\n\nContribute to projects that shape our core product experience - driving growth, ensuring healthy moderation, and empowering creators\n\nDesign and launch product features at massive scale, using data and experimentation to guide each iteration\n\nDrive projects from ideation to production using the full technology stack\n\nCollaborate with designers, product managers, fellow engineers, and data scientists to prototype and implement functionality and analyze impact\n\nParticipate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure Quora provides a reliable and high quality product\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nAvailability for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours \" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)\n\nA 2025 or 2026 graduate with or pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field\n\nFoundational understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design through coursework or practical experience\n\nExperience with Python or similar programming language, or the ability to learn them quickly\n\nA passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you\n\nPreferred Requirements:\nPrevious software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, and/or coding competition\n\nFamiliarity with Python, React, TypeScript and/or SQL\n\nPassion for Quora's mission and goals\n\nCuriosity about AI and hands-on experience exploring AI tools or building AI-powered projects through coursework, personal projects, or previous work-experience\n\nAt Quora, we value diversity and inclusivity and welcome individuals from all backgrounds, including marginalized or underrepresented groups in tech, to apply for our job openings. Benefits are country-specific and may vary.\nThere are many factors that will determine the starting compensation, including but not limited to experience, location, education, and business needs.\nUS candidates only: For US based applicants, the salary range is $97,600 - $139,000 USD + equity + benefits.\n\nCanada candidates only: For Toronto and Vancouver based applicants, the salary range is $125,320 - $142,783 CAD + equity + benefits.
