Administration:\nInstall, configure, upgrade, and maintainMariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Apache Cassandradatabases\n\nPerform database capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization\n\nMonitor database health, replication, clustering, and availability\n\nBackup, Recovery & High Availability:\nDesign and manage backup and recovery strategies (logical & physical backups)\n\nImplement and manage replication, clustering, and failover solutions\n\nPerform disaster recovery planning and regular DR drills\n\nSecurity & Compliance:\nManage database security: users, roles, privileges, encryption, and auditing\n\nApply security patches and upgrades in compliance with company policies\n\nEnsure compliance with data protection and regulatory standards\n\nPerformance & Troubleshooting:\nDiagnose and resolve database performance issues and outages\n\nAnalyze slow queries, locks, and resource bottlenecks\n\nProvide root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents\n\nAutomation:\nAutomate routine DBA tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, etc.)\n\nSupport containerized and cloud-based database deployments (if applicable)\n\nDocumentation & Support:\nMaintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks\n\nProvide on-call support for production database environments\n\nAssistdevelopers with schema design, indexing, and query optimization\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong hands-on experience withMariaDB / MySQL,PostgreSQL, and Apache Cassandra\n\nExpertisein:\n\nReplication & clustering (Galera, PostgreSQL streaming replication, Cassandra clusters)\n\nBackup & recovery tools (mysqldump,pg_dump,pg_basebackup,nodetool, etc.)\n\nPerformance tuning and query optimization\n\nExperience with Linux systems and shell scripting\n\nKnowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios, etc.)\n\nDatabase Concepts:\nACID vs BASE principles\n\nOLTP and distributed database architectures\n\nData modeling for relational and NoSQL
