For more information, visit QXO.com.\nWhat you will do:\nThe Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily delivery operations, scheduling drivers and equipment, and ensuring customer orders are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This role manages delivery schedules, prepares next-day transportation plans, coordinates fleet and equipment availability, and works closely with Warehouse, Operations, Drivers, and Customer Service teams to support efficient logistics operations.\nThe ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable about local delivery operations, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced building materials environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer service.\nDelivery Scheduling and Dispatch\nSchedule and coordinate daily deliveries and pickups for assigned customers and delivery areas\nPlan, organize, and assign Drivers, Helpers, trucks, forklifts, and other delivery resources to maximize operational efficiency\nReview customer delivery requirements, jobsite conditions, order priorities, and equipment needs when developing delivery schedules\nPrepare next-day delivery plans and communicate assignments to Warehouse, Drivers, and Operations teams\nCoordinate first-run and second-run deliveries based on customer needs and operational capacity\nMonitor daily delivery activity and adjust schedules when customer needs, traffic, weather, equipment, or other conditions change\nMaintain familiarity with the local delivery area to support efficient routing and scheduling\nLoad and Warehouse Coordination\nCoordinate with Warehouse personnel to ensure next-day orders are picked, staged, and prepared for loading\nDistribute work assignments to forklift operators and other warehouse personnel supporting delivery preparation\nCommunicate delivery plans, load priorities, and equipment requirements to Warehouse and Operations teams\nVerify delivery schedules are aligned with available trucks, drivers, helpers, and material-handling equipment\nAssist with resolving missing materials, incomplete loads, or other issues that could affect scheduled deliveries\nSupport warehouse operations and material handling when necessary\nFleet and Equipment Coordination\nSchedule trucks, forklifts, and other operational equipment for routine maintenance and service\nCoordinate road service, tire service, forklift maintenance, and other equipment repairs as needed\nEnsure safe and reliable vehicles and forklifts are available to meet operational requirements\nCommunicate equipment outages or service needs and adjust delivery plans accordingly\nMonitor equipment availability to minimize disruptions to daily delivery operations\nCoordinate with vendors or service providers regarding equipment maintenance when required\nDriver and Workforce Scheduling\nPrepare daily crew sheets with employee reporting times, routes, and equipment assignments\nCoordinate schedules for Drivers, Helpers, forklift operators, and other assigned transportation personnel\nMaintain employee vacation and time-off information when developing transportation schedules\nAdjust staffing plans based on delivery volume, customer requirements, and employee availability\nCommunicate schedule changes and daily expectations clearly to transportation and warehouse personnel\nTransportation and Compliance\nManage truck loading and delivery activities in accordance with DOT requirements and applicable company procedures\nMaintain awareness of vehicle capacities, load requirements, route restrictions, and delivery equipment needs\nFollow applicable OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and union agreements where applicable\nReinforce safe work practices with Drivers, Helpers, and Operations personnel\nMaintain accurate delivery, dispatch, vehicle, and operational documentation as required\nSupport continuous improvement efforts related to compliance, delivery efficiency, and transportation performance\nSupplies and Operational Support\nMonitor and maintain necessary transportation and safety supplies, including items such as antifreeze, oil, gloves, safety glasses, vests, helmets, and truck accessories\nCoordinate ordering or replenishment of operational supplies as needed\nMaintain organized records of transportation equipment, assignments, and service needs\nAssist Operations leadership with resolving day-to-day transportation and logistics issues\nPerform additional duties and operational projects as assigned\nCustomer and Cross-Functional Support\nProvide responsive and professional service to internal and external customers\nCommunicate with Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Operations, and Drivers regarding delivery status and customer requirements\nProactively communicate delays, scheduling changes, or service concerns to the appropriate team members\nHelp resolve customer delivery issues while maintaining company service understanding of DOT and transportation safety requirements\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious dispatching, logistics, transportation, or distribution experience preferred\nIn-depth knowledge of interior building materials, including drywall, metal studding, acoustical products, and related materials\nExperience within wholesale building materials or construction supply strongly preferred\nPrevious driver experience is a plus\nForklift experience is a plus\nExperience coordinating fleets, delivery crews, or material-handling equipment preferred\nFamiliarity with dispatch, routing, GPS, ERP, or transportation-management systems is a plus\nWork Environment and Requirements\nWork is performed primarily in an office or dispatch environment within a branch, warehouse, or distribution facility\nFrequent interaction with Drivers, Helpers, Warehouse personnel, customers, Operations, and management\nSignificant telephone, computer, scheduling, and administrative work throughout the day\nAbility to sit for extended periods\nAbility to occasionally assist in warehouse operations and lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds\nAbility to operate a forklift occasionally
