We’re looking for a Manager, Sales Engineer- Project Tracking to help our sales teams find and pursue more of the opportunity within each construction project.
This leader will manage a team that identifies and qualifies projects, researches the contractors involved, and evaluates where QXO’s products fit. The goal is to give local sales teams timely, actionable intelligence across the full project-not just the product category that first brought it to our attention.
What you will do:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Trackers covering multiple markets and product categories.
Build consistent processes for finding, qualifying, prioritizing, and assigning construction project opportunities.
Evaluate projects across QXO’s product portfolio, including roofing, waterproofing, insulation, lumber, siding, and other building materials.
Identify relevant contractors, subcontractors, developers, and other project stakeholders, including those who do not currently buy from QXO.
Partner with field sales, branches, National Accounts, and Estimating and Takeoff teams to turn project research into opportunities the business can pursue.
Track projects through bidding, quoting, award, and sales outcome. Use wins and losses to identify gaps and improve how QXO competes.
Set data standards and performance measures, maintain accurate information in Salesforce and other systems, and give leadership visibility into the project pipeline.
Improve the team’s tools, training, workflows, and reporting as QXO expands into new markets and product categories.
What you will bring:
Experience leading a team in construction intelligence, project research, preconstruction, estimating, sales operations, business development, or a related area.
An understanding of the construction lifecycle, from planning and bidding through award and procurement.
The ability to interpret project descriptions, plans, specifications, bid documents, and contractor activity.
Knowledge of building materials and the ability to spot opportunities across multiple products and trades.
Strong research and analytical skills, with a track record of turning complex information into clear priorities for sales teams.
Experience building processes, setting performance expectations, and coaching a team to deliver accurate, useful work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both centralized teams and field leaders.
Experience with Salesforce or another CRM; familiarity with construction intelligence platforms such as Dodge Construction Network, ConstructConnect, or CoStar is a plus.
A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
What you will earn:
- 401(k) with employer match
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- PTO, company holidays, and parental leave
- Paid training and certifications
- Legal assistance and identity protection
- Pet insurance
- Employee assistance program (EAP)
