For more information, visit QXO.com.\nWhat you will do:\nAs a Regional Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for QXO, you will be a field-based safety leader responsible for driving proactive risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and cultural transformation across assigned branch and transportation operations. Reporting to the Director of EHS, this role is critical to executing QXO’s EHS Strategic Vision, transitioning the organization from incident-driven compliance to a system-based, learning-focused, and resilient safety culture.\nYou will partner closely with operations leadership, transportation teams, and centralized EHS resources to anticipate risk, strengthen systems, and empower frontline decision-making, with a primary focus on preventing Potential Serious Incidents and Fatalities (pSIFs) and Significant Incidents and Fatalities (SIFs).\nThis role would support multiple states.\nStrategic Execution & Safety Leadership\nExecute QXO’s EHS Strategy at the regional level, aligning branch activities with enterprise priorities across Programs & Systems Excellence, People & Culture, Risk Reduction, and Physical Security.\nServe as a visible safety leader who reinforces the principle that safety is a business driver, not a compliance checkbox.\nTranslate corporate strategy into practical, field-level actions that improve risk visibility, decision quality, and operational resilience.\nHuman & Organizational Performance (HOP) Integration\nApply HOP principles in investigations, learning teams, coaching, and leadership interactions: \nError is normal\nLearning is vital\nContext matters\nResponse matters\nLeadership enables\nLead learning-based reviews for pSIFs, SIFs, and high-potential near misses, focusing on system improvements rather than individual blame.\nCoach site leaders on Just Culture expectations and effective responses to incidents and unsafe conditions.\nRisk Identification & Proactive Risk Reduction\nDrive structured hazard identification through job hazard analyses, branch assessments, and near-miss reporting, emphasizing severity potential over injury outcomes.\nSupport and maintain the QXO Risk Register, ensuring high-risk exposures are identified, prioritized, and mitigated.\nPartner with operations to design and improve processes, layouts, equipment, and workflows that reduce exposure to serious injury and fatality risk.\nRegulatory Compliance & Technical Expertise\nMaintain expert knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations applicable to warehousing, fleet, and delivery operations.\nServe as the regional point of contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries, ensuring consistent and professional engagement.\nEnsure effective management of: \nOSHA recordkeeping (300, 300A, 301)\nDOT compliance, including driver qualification files, hours-of-service, drug and alcohol testing, and vehicle inspections\nHazardous materials handling, transport, training, and incident response\nBalance regulatory compliance with risk-based decision-making, avoiding overreliance on lagging indicators alone.\nData, Systems & Leading Indicators\nManage and leverage digital EHS systems to improve reporting accuracy, visibility, and accountability.\nShift field leadership focus from lagging metrics (e.g., TRIR) to leading indicators, including: \npSIF/SIF rates\nSafety Index Score\nBranch and jobsite assessment quality\nAction closure effectiveness\nDOT compliance performance\nAnalyze trends and present clear, actionable insights to regional and corporate leadership.\nTraining, Coaching & Culture\nDevelop and deliver targeted training that supports hazard recognition, defensive driving, emergency response, and safe work design.\nCoach managers and supervisors to: \nReinforce proactive reporting\nModel desired safety behaviors\nIntegrate safety considerations into daily operational decisions\nPromote psychological safety and employee engagement through consistent communication, safety meetings, and learning feedback loops.\nEmergency Preparedness & Continuity\nSupport development and execution of emergency response and business continuity plans across assigned locations.\nParticipate in incident response, recovery, and post-event learning to ensure organizational resilience and continuous improvement.\nCollaboration & Influence\nPartner with regional operations, fleet leadership, HR, and centralized EHS teams to align on risk mitigation and performance improvement.\nSupport workers’ compensation and claims management through proactive case reviews and return-to-work coordination.\nRepresent QXO professionally with regulators, insurers, and external stakeholders.\nWhat you will bring:\nBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n5+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in multi-site distribution, warehousing, transportation, or construction environments.\nDemonstrated experience implementing system-based safety programs beyond basic compliance.\nStrong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA requirements.\nExperience with incident investigations, risk assessments, and leading-indicator-based performance management.\nAbility to influence leaders at all levels using data, coaching, and practical solutions.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.\nWillingness to travel regularly
